My daughter purchased online their 'Angus Beef Steak' buffet promo for a family lunch as an early birthday celebration for her husband who can cook real good steak at home according to our liking. We were all looking forward to it as it promised classified Angus Beef and reviews were mostly good. We were really impressed when we arrived as the small cozy restaurant with its French ambience looked inviting. It just looked a bit weird that the buffet was on the other side of the lobby where you have to walk near the main door to and from our table.
We were a group of 12 adults and 3 kids which had seven (including me) taking the steak buffet while the others ordering ala carte. Two ordered Pasta which really looked so funny in a big plate and just a teeny weeny portion of pasta in the middle. The other two ordered Baby Back Ribs which looked nice and I think good since they finished it though the Caesar salad ordered came after the ribs were served.
But what is very disappointing is the steak buffet spread. Besides the 'Roast Beef', they had food warmers with Spaghetti Amatriciana, Buffalo Chicken, Blanced Cauliflower, Seafood Medley, Buttered Potatoes, Cut vegetables on salad table along with few fresh fruits and minimal selection of desserts.
For one, the spaghetti was cut... twirling it with the fork as how spaghetti should be eaten is not possible. At one point, almost all the food in the warmer were gone and everybody has to wait for it to be refilled which took them a long time.
The carvery chef/cook was missing for a long time that there was a line for the steak. And when he finally came, he looked stressed and nervous and most disastrous part is, he does not have any idea how to prepare the the steak accordingly. I wanted mine 'medium rare' and it came out done. My son in-law wanted it medium done and it came very well done that it really was so dry. A steak has to be done just right to enjoy it.
Taking out of dirty plates were also slow. We ordered wine but besides the first glasses, we had to pour refill ourselves as the waiters/waitresses not really looking at it? The restaurant was not full as there were only three other tables besides our big group so we expected a bit more service.
One more important thing worth mentioning is the restroom. It is modern and look nice but it is so crazy lock system in the cubicles... It might be a good idea to change it as it is quiet difficult to lock it with just one small hole and have the small barrel system shoot it.
