It can't be said enough that the grounds of this hotel, with babbling streams and pools, really hit the mark. This hotel is so peaceful that it is a destination unto itself. The garden design evokes an atmosphere of privacy that can't be touched by other hotels. It is an oasis of tranquility, and no matter how hectic things can get outside the grounds, you will soon find peace and relaxation in the grounds of Duta Gardens

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at the Duta Gardens Hotel. Not sure why people have trouble finding these places as there are Google maps, Apple maps, Taxis and Uber who will take you right to the front door.
I love having a place which is not on the main drag as it ensures peace and quiet from the incessant Indonesian motorcycle revving. This place fits the bill. It seems to be three separate, but connected complexes, with one being on a street one away from the other two. If you stay in the complexes next to each other you will have to walk across the road to have breakfast, depending on which you stay in. Both sides have nice pools. The other one has a pool too.
Breakfast (from 6:30am--10am) is a buffet with three different Indonesian dishes each morning: two change daily and one remains Nasi Goreng. You also have a choice of freshly prepared eggs or banana pancakes or both. There is tea, coffee, water and two different juices, also toast, Indonesian sweets and fruit.
Rooms are large and comfy and cleaned immaculately daily. You will also get fresh towels and bottles of water. An afternoon snack is served to your room too.
Ok, the bathrooms are a bit dated, but honestly, there was so much hot water and the pressure was so great that I can't complain. I don't hang out in the bathroom. The only funny thing there was that you had to do the limbo to reach the toilet paper--haha. Weird placement of the holder. The hotel supplied toiletries included: shampoo, soap, bath gel, toothbrushes, shower caps and disposable slippers. Ask for a second floor room, if possible, as you won't have people walking by you as some rooms experience. All very tropical and beautifully landscaped with waterfalls and pool and carp. The doors do have some locking issues that the hotel need to fix, but all in all, we loved it. The front desk can help you with tours and taxis if you are so inclined. Lots of places to relax outside your room on the grounds too.

On the positive side the grounds are very nice, the room spacious, and the restaurant has good food. The staff are also great. But be aware these are not luxury rooms. The bathroom in our room was like a cheap hotel. It was old and worn, small basin, separate small taps, very low water pressure, shower curtain, no towel rack, only tiny round hooks that the towel slips off of, no fan, only slit in window with no screen that lets mozzies in. There are much better hotels nearby in the same price range.

Duta Garden Boutique Villa is a little piece of paradise in a busy city. Rooms are surrounded by lush greenery, ponds with fish and frogs, waterfalls and swimming pool, it is so tranquil and peaceful, it is hard to believe you are in a city, when at night you can hear frogs and crickets.

The accommodation is well located, 500 metres away is Jl. Prawirotaman, which has numerous eating places and money changers. There are many becak’s, (rickshaws) parked on this street, if the heat and humidity get too much to walk. Taman Sari/Water Palace is 2kms away.

The deluxe twin room is spacious, with many surfaces to put things and most importantly there is no clutter, it is also very clean. The bathroom could do with an overhaul, it is very tired looking and lets down the rest of the accommodation. Breakfast was okay. Wifi connection was very good. The ladies on reception were especially lovely and in general staff were very friendly and helpful. We used the hotel shuttle from the airport which was IDR 150.000 per car.

Tickets for the Ramayana Ballet at Prambanan Temple are available at reception, this includes all classes of seating and there is no additional charge if purchasing through the hotel. They can also arrange transport, don’t know the cost as we had our own driver.

Their laundry service is very expensive and environmentally unfriendly, the laundry came back with individual items backed with cardboard and in plastic bags.

The cost of the accommodation is good value, when considering the cleanliness, location, space, helpfulness of staff and their beautiful gardens. If ever we came back to Yogyakarta, we would definitely stay here again.

This charming hotel is a real gem. Tucked in a small alley it blends in until you enter the lobby. That is when the magic begins. Starts with very friendly helpful staff at the front desk. Then you pass through beautiful landscaping and a pool with a waterfall cascading down a rock wall. We stayed in a standard room which was ample: clean, comfortable bed and great shower. Also had a balcony overlooking the pool. Best surprise were the treats brought to our room each day - donut one day and another dessert item the next day (can't remember what it was). Might have been because it was Ramadan when we visited, not sure, but it was a welcome treat. Close to restaurants. Would highly recommend Mediterranean for a high dining experience at a reasonable price. Would love to stay here again.
