What I usually look for in a budget hotel are just a comfortable bed, a good shower, a functioning air-con, well-connected Wi-Fi and a simple breakfast. Delta Homestay gives all and more.

As opposed to many other budget hotels whose sparse décor encourages you to go straight to your room and fall asleep, this hotel welcomes you in with its ascetically pleasing design. I particularly enjoy the lush tropical vegetation and the corridor where you can sit down on a rattan chair overlooking the quiet pool and relax. Breakfast is good, with papaya and pineapples. You will have cake and tea in the afternoon at about 3:00 p.m.

Inside the room you have a large bedroom, a clothes rack and a tiny coffee table. You will also have two bottles of mineral water and two clean white towels. The wall in my room has a beautiful mural which depicts, I think, traditional Javaese folktales. The room is not big, but enough. There are no dental kits, just some soap. You will need to bring your own toiletries.

The staffs are tremendously helpful and able to give you reliable transport advice at any time of the day. On arrival they will even give you an illustrated map with all places of interests written in Indonesian that all local people can understand. On the streets if you are not sure about which bus to take, just show this map to the drivers and they can point you to the right direction. Down the streets you will also find tourist agencies which arrange tours to Borobudur, Prambanan etc and etc. Restaurants of different price ranges are everywhere.

With all those vegetation, however, you can expect to find some insects and geckos nearby or inside your room. I would suggest not leaving your luggage open on the floor. There are also ants crawling in the sink, but rest assured that the staffs will rush to your rescue if you spot an insect that looks particularly strange.

Also, you may need to bring a 2-pin to 3-pin adaptor if you are used to 3-pin sockets at home.

I can be really short about this: Delta Home Stay is a wonderful small place in yogja. You stay in one of the few rooms gathered around the swimmingpool in a beautiful garden.

The first two nights we slept in the cheapest room which contained only two small beds and that's it. Too be honost, these beds are not great. You have to share the bathroom with three other rooms, with only coldwatershowers. This isn't all bad since it's really hot ofcourse. But we swapped rooms because my back hurt. The other rooms had a much better bed and a bathroom with hotwater and toilet! These are ace and not that much more expensive.

And for the management, all I can say is that they are awesome. The guys working there cleaning rooms and gardening are really nice and helpful.

10/10 i'd go back to this little paradise in a really nice neighbourhood of Yogja.

Very nice Guesthouse in the second JL. Prawirotaman. The adress is a bit strange in the description, that’s why I describe it. The rooms are not that big, but big enough. The garden with the swimming pool is fantastic. The location is in the middle of the action without all the noise. There is not much choice in breakfast but it’s good.

A/c room for 250,000 IDR. Better bc you can close out the rooster noise that is everywhere in Indonesia. Never went in the pool, but it looked nice. Breakfast we decent. Good location - close to lots of restaurants and other hotels and travel agents. Take the trans-Yogya bus to the airport, Prambanana and Borobudur - its easy. The desk person can tell you where to go. Wifi was touch and go sometimes, but generally worked. Check out our blog for more info: https://somuchtravel.wordpress.com/

We stayed here for 3 nights in AC double room which included hot shower which was nice. We were a couple that had to share twin beds which kind of sucked but everything else was great. The location was perfect, there is an alley next door that leads to Jl Prawirotaman with everything you'd need. The staff was super nice even bringing us cake and tea on our arrival and departure night. Full breakfast either western or Indonesian with loads of fruit. The property itself is a little oasis with pool and gardens and lots of chances to mingle with others.
