I went there ("Old Court Justice") as it was a stop on my 180k Rupiah "Kintamani-Besakih Tour" (on a Saturday) and I can't remember the entrance price to get in (they will give you a sarong for free). Since it was late afternoon and the blue skies were completely clear, the pictures (especially of the pavilion surrounded by water) came out great plus the ceiling murals were unique. There is also a small museum albeit they could do a better job of labeling things plus the old newspapers in it were all in Dutch...

It is called Kerta Gosa, a floating pavilion. It is used for Justice. It has water on 4 sides and bridge to approch. It is a finest example of Ramayan and Mahabharat Mural painting and preserved those. The painting was on ceiling and all walls. It reminds you of Michel Angelo and his paintings. The colors were red, yellow and gold on white background. The carved table and 6 matching chairs were preserved and was in the center of pavilion. The garden was surrounded and had many statues along the walkway and on approach bridge. There was a museum also besides this. Fees was only 1.2 USD.

i visited the site last month by my self. Kerta gosa in an ancient court justice located in the smallest Bali regency, Klungkung. The site consist of 2 building called "taman gili" and "bale kambang " the places were beautiful and has unique painting on the ceiling of both building. The story behind this painting is about karma pala, Hindus believed of everything we do will comes around either comes bad or good depending what we do.

here also i enjoy the little museum where we can learn the story behind this Balinese ancient court justice. this place were definitely worth to visit while your holiday in Bali
entrance fee is IDR 12.500 include sarong to enter the site

We stopped here as part of a one day tour from Ubud. The temple and grounds were beautiful, and it has a museum showing old pics from the dutch colonial days. Check out the murals on the ceilings of the temple bulding - beautiful! Worth a short visit.

Kertha Gosa is an interesting look at Bali's center of pre-colonial justice. The pavilions display traditional wayang style painting on the ceiling tiles. The history of this site is fascinating as are the stories the tiles depict. There was a small entry fee. It is appropriate to wear a sarong when visiting this site. We didn't visit it, but there's also a museum on the grounds. We stopped on our way back to Amed after spending the early afternoon in Ubud. Although I would not make this site my sole destination, it is definitely worthwhile including it as part of a larger program.
