The plus side: very close to old central Lhasa (Bharkhor Square/ The Jokhang temple) and easy access to restaurants; friendly front of house
The down side: needs some renovation eg broken window locks (anyone could break in), safe not secured to wall (though on mentioning we were quickly moved to another safer room). Safe available at desk and very secure.
Make sure you request a double bed room if required or you will get two vey separate beds.
Do NOT under any circumstances buy food in their restaurant. It has a massively inflated price tag (think x3 over the average) and they only accept yuan/renminbi in cash (no cards, no other currencies) and if you don’t have this (and after a flight you probably won’t) you will be frog-marched with a guard (embarrassing, right) to a cash point. Not the way to treat guests. This only relates to the restaurant - the hotel staff were most helpful.More
