This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend (ex pat) who lives in Hong Kong now. She said it is the only restaurant in HK where she goes to multiple times and looks forward to it each time. We were advised to make a reservation since there were only 5 tables. They do not open until dinner and they did not answer their phone before they opened so we just kept checking in while we were in the neighborhood that night to see if we could get a table for 6. We lucked out and got seated that night. We just loved our time there so much, that we returned for another dinner before we departed Hong Kong (2 days later). Brenda is the owner and hostess. She is sweet, adorable, gracious and super knowledgeable about Szechuan Cuisine. Her husband works the kitchen while she takes care of the front of the house. Its a very small staff, so you have to be patient. I promise you it is worth your patience. The food is extraordinary. Their wine list is nice too. Its has a lovely decor as well. The best Peking Duck we've ever had. It is completely de-boned. Just magnificent. When she says a dish is hot, trust her. We like hot and the dishes with the chili pepper emoji next to the descriptions warn you of the spice level. Some are hotter than others. Brenda can advise you on what you will be able to handle.
We passed by the restaurant a few nights later and Brenda remembered us and our friends. When we returned a few days later to dine again, she remembered what we had eaten the first time and made recommendations on that, knowing that we should try something new (but definitely get the Peking Duck again!).
I kind of hate to tell the world how great this place is and keep it a secret forever, but the owner and her husband deserve your business.
