Owner description: Beautiful, quiet serene place located in the middle of the city. Small zoo with many exhibits. Great way to relax from shopping and sight seeing.

This is not a Zoo, not that many animals. The cages were way to small to hold the monkeys and if you have problems with this i would't recommend visiting.

Whit that said, the gardens and park are amazing and relaxing. Perfect if you want a break from the hectic city. A beautiful spot that definietly are worth a visit even if you don't wanna watch the animals.

Quite small compared to other Zoological and Botanical Gardens we have seen around the world. But pleasant enough place to spend some time. We walked here from Hong Kong Park. At the end of our visit we walked down to the Star Ferry pier in about 15 minutes.
The gardens are on a hillside and are quite steep in parts. There are lots of aviaries with a variety of birds, and also quite a few primates. There are play areas for children and the place was busy with families when we were there on a Sunday afternoon.

15 min walk from central station, you will arrive here and enjoy flowers, HK view, primates, turtles, colorful birds... well organized and clean. It’s a nice moment to relax after shopping or working : you can spend 1h or half a day ... simply enjoy it.

We followed the signs to the Gardens after we came off the Peak Tram, it’s all uphill and takes about 10 minutes. I say it’s uphill, some parts are steep!

Walking into the garden it’s very well presented and the gardens are well tended, we arrived around 16:30/17:00 and it was starting to get busy.

Is it a botanical garden? Not in the sense of what I know from the UK but it is a really nice garden and it’s neatly tucked away in the middle of the high rises around.

As for the “zoo” part, we had a look around and as with many of the other reviews here found that the enclosures are very small.

After a day walking round, it was nice to sit and relax by the fountain for a while before heading back.
