As a local Hong Konger, One Dim Sum charges reasonably with satisfactory quality of food.

Food portion & quality (4/5): not super duper exciting but above average.
Environment (2/5): very crowded and always need to share table with others. But, clean in a sense.
Staff (3/5): you get efficiency so don’t expect much consideration. Fair to them, they try their best to serve.
Price (5/5): basic charge (eg tea per person) is cheap. Most food is about 10-20% cheaper than other tea house.
Waiting time (1/5): pls expect minimum 20-30 mins during non-peak and 1 hr+ during peak. Better get the ticket and do some shopping around (next to flower market & two blocks away from Lady market).

In conclusion, plan for the wait with the best attraction “value for money”.

The food is fine and cheap but certainly not outstanding, the wait on the sidewalk apparently part of the deal (don't expect first-come first-serve). The majority of visitors is apparently tourists that follow the TripAdvisor recommendation, the ambience is the result of successful maximizing of the profit by the operator

Don't get me wrong, the food is pretty good. I would not say it's the best dim sum I've had but not bad at all. I think the hype of this place is hard to live up to, especially when you have to stand outside for 15 to 45 mins.

It is cramped inside, as is most eateries are in HK. Be prepared to eat FAST as the table is too small to fit all the dishes and the staff cleans out your plates very "efficiently" - as they need the table for other patrons.

They do have some nice traditional dishes. All in all, very nice experience but there are other places with same quality of food without the wait and have a better atmosphere.

Based on other reviews I had high hopes for this restaurant. Good: we had just a 5 minute wait before securing a table of four for two adults & two elementary school children; price for 8 dishes, including the mandatory tea for each diner, totalled a mere 20 USD; tea was delicious; steamed vegetables were cooked perfectly; spring rolls excellent; children loved the baked pork barbecue buns; steamed vegetable dumplings very good.. Not so good (perhaps reflecting western tastes): pork dumplings not appealing (children will normally eat 6-8 of these each at a sitting, but none of us cared for them); steamed pork barbecue bun was a bit light on filling; chicken with red bean sauce had too many bones for the rest of the family. Loses a couple of stars for the not so good dishes, gains one back because of the unbeatable price.
