We had dinner here on two nights during our stay in Beijing.
The first evening the food was a bit hit and miss, we were a bit underwhelmed.
We decided to give the restaurant another try on our last evening. What a difference!
We couldn't fault anything. I think it all comes down to what you order and I think we probably made wrong choices on our first night.
The staff were all friendly and attentive and the restaurant has a nice fine dining ambience in the evening.
We also ate breakfast here every morning of our stay.

Brasserie 1893 is located off the lobby in the Waldorf Astoria Beijing. We had a good lunch of lentil soup and veal with mushrooms. Scrupulous service. Open for B-L-D.

We were staying at The hotel and having arrived early evening on a long flight wanted a quick meal so we decided upon then in house restaurant.

In many ways this idea was a mistake, as the ambiance, staff and food were so good we ended up having a long evening and ended up falling into bed.

The food is top quality, inventively cooked with excellent ingredients and portion size that for us meant only two courses, which was a shame as there looked to be some fine desserts.

In reality this is fine dinning at its best, and whilst this comes with a price tag, certainly a reasonable one.

We had lunch here on our last day in Beijing. The food was excellent and the service was impeccable. I truly enjoyed the experience.
