This restaurant can be difficult to find. Its at the top of Qian Men Dong road near T road that runs along Tinamen Square. It is set back from the road in a very flash setting that was the French Legion quarter. The building have been revamped and there is a very hip jazz club and a Whiskey Bar in the same space. The window seats look out over the courtyard. There is an upstairs seating area which would have a view over the Square.
Wait staff are good at seating and taking the orders but after that they are pretty remote - custom service needs a good tweak (I served the wine throughout the meal). Also, it was off putting to have a cleaner standing nearby whose sole role was to clean the table tops!
That said, the flavours were very, very good and clean. The servings were adequate but not large. The stand out was the fried ribs -view the accompanying pictures.
We had three dishes, rice and a bottle of Australian wine for a total of Y800.
Easy to see why this up-market chain is a draw card to Western tourists and middle class locals.
