We stayed in October for a 72 hour visit. Since my wife and I used the 72 hour visa, we had a very short visit and we chose the Imperial Mansion because of the price and location. Here is our review:
Airport to Hotel: We could not find a shuttle service to the hotel from Beijing airport but thanks to the reviews we saw we booked a roundtrip service with Catherine Lu Tours. A representative met us at the exit of customs and took us to a vehicle in the parking garage. Even though our flight was delayed an hour and we had some visa issues, the driver was waiting with our names on a piece of paper which was easy to find. The drive from the airport to the hotel took about 20 minutes. There was no traffic considering it was almost 1:00 am.

Checking In: Due to the late hour, we was the only one checking in. Instead of standing at a receptionist area, the receptionist is sitting at a desk. The person that assisted us was very helpful and spoke clear English.

Room: This was the first time my wife and I stayed at a Marriott Executive Apartments and we was blown away when we got to the room. Even though the name same apartments in the title we did not think we would get an actual apartment for our room. There was a kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, microwave oven. A dining room area, a living room and a separate bedroom. The bathroom was huge, with a Jacuzzi tub in the middle. We was very surprise and the best part was the cost of this hotel was a lot less than the other ones we looked at.

Location: The hotel is located about a 5 minute walk to Wangfujin Street that has a number of restaurants and shops. It is also very close to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. I cannot tell you how long it is to walk because we went by car but it seemed short via vehicle. There is a Family Mart (similar to 7-11) right outside the hotel where we picked up drinks and snacks. I did not see a grocery store nearby, but I believe the hotel has a shopping service.

Amenities: We saw the swimming pool (did not use) but we did go to the restaurant for the breakfast buffet. The food was good, there was the same items you see at most hotel buffets.

Staff: The doorman was very nice and the people at the receptionist was helpful. They did assist us with a reservations at a Peking Duck restaurant so they did their job in a friendly manner.

Final comment: It has been over two months since the trip and I continue to be amazed with the size of the room. To me that was a highlight of the trip and if given another chance we would stay at a Marriott apartments again.

We stayed slightly > then a week in this serviced apartment. The room is huge. Has a door area (with cupboards to hang your coats and stuffs), kitchenette (with most facilities), a dinning area, a living room, a separate sofa bed (which u can corner into a room but just that the sofa bed is a single sofa bed, not double), a king bed adjoining to a huge tub (Jacuzzi sized) with a bath and 2 toilets (one in the main door area) and a walk in wardrobe.
Kids enjoyed the tub tremendously and we the space. Everything was great except that they only change the bedroom slippers after 7 whole days, bath area's drainage was not too efficient and we just could not get the room to be cooler, it was way too warm at >30 degrees.

We stayed twice in November, once for 3 nights and on our return for 1 night. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite both times. The suite is very large and spacious. It feels like a large luxury condo with beautiful tile and wood trim. We were traveling as a family of four and we could really spread out. The master bathroom is very large with a large soaking tub which we never used. The housekeeping could be better but we found this somewhat standard around China. My husband ordered room service on our first night when we arrived from our late flight at 9:45 (room service stops at 10:00). After they cleaned our room on the first day, his dishes from that meal sat on the floor at the end of our hallway for the rest of our three day stay. That was kind of gross. The people at the front desk were really nice and helpful, especially the ladies on our first stay. They went above and beyond trying to book us taxis and tickets for the kung fu show at the last minute. On our second stay, we had Alvin to check us in and then check us out the next day. He was nice enough but he seemed more interested in telling us how high we should rate him when Marriott sent us a survey then actually making our stay nice. We checked in early on our second stay because we had taken an overnight train from Xian. We had let the nice ladies from our first stay know that we would be checking in early on our second stay but Alvin seemed to not know that we had stayed the week prior and he also didn't seem to know that we were Marriott silver rewards members. He told us that no rooms were clean and we would have to wait to check in. However, just two minutes later one of the ladies I recognized from our first stay (she might have been a manager) said something to Alvin and then magically a room was clean and available for us to check in. I think she told him that we were silver members but seriously if someone comes in early wouldn't you give them an option for checking in early, maybe at an extra cost if they were not silver members, instead of lying and saying no rooms were available? It was obvious to us during both stays that the hotel was not full. But Alvin was kind of full of himself and then went on to say how he had upgraded our room too, however it was the same two bedroom room that we had stayed in on our first stay. We paid for the largest room because we wanted it and didn't want to worry if we would get an upgrade or not. We have had this happen to us in the US too...I never can understand why they wouldn't just be honest and say if you want to check in early it will cost you x dollars instead of saying they have no rooms available. Despite this I would highly recommend this hotel. The two bedroom suite was the largest we have ever had in a large city and this hotel is in the most prime location of the capital city of China. For what you get here it is a great value. Go for the two bedroom it is worth it! The breakfast is also good with a made to order egg station and an espresso machine. The Chinese offerings were also better than other hotels we visited on our trip. I would suggest booking the breakfast with the room.

We stayed in an executive apartment for five nights while visiting Beijing. The apartment was extremely spacious - my husband was particularly impressed with the large bathtub and TV in the bathroom! We found it to be in a great location - quite close to the metro, shops, Wangfujing pedestrian street and the forbidden city. Breakfast was included with our room package each morning. While not overly fancy, it was very convenient and a good way to start each day. Staff at the hotel were friendly, and we had a great stay while in Beijing.
