A must see site! It was a beautiful day, chilly but clear. The chair lift a great ride but the toboggan run down even better. What a wonderful experience!

Hired a driver and went to the wall. Great trip but scary chair lift to get to the top. Walking the wall was tiring but well worth the effort.

I went to the Mutianyu section of the wall on a group tour. We only walked a short while so I hired a car and went back to walk to the tower at the top of the steps, (21 or 22). It was amazing. The steps are steep, but you will feel great after walking it. I took a cable car up to the wall and they have shops and restaurants at the bottom. I thought it was moderately crowded. Go in the spring or sooner because it was hot on my second day.

The Great Wall is amazing. Plan to walk and climb stairs extensively. I did not make it to the very end of this section but I am almost 64 and out of shape. The air quality is really bad in China and it takes it's toll here too. It was the best part of my trip to China. Take your time and don't rush. Photography is excellent and some of the little nooks and crannies are worth the stop along the way up. Take plenty of water and wear good walking shoes. This may be difficult for small children and I saw plenty of them being carried.

We stayed in Beijing for five nights - 23rd to 28th March. During our stay, our Exo travel guide was Sandy and our driver was Mr Wang.

Sandy was an excellent guide. The information she provided gave us real insight on all the attractions we visited and made the history come to life. Her stories about the Last Emperor and the Dragon Lady are lasting memories for me of Beijing. Sandy was very personable and went out of her way to make our stay easy and enjoyable.

Mr Wang was a master of navigating the Beijing traffic and transported us safely and efficiently throughout our journeys.

If you travel to Beijing and are looked after by Sandy and Mr Wang, you will be in safe hands!
