This is a very convenient self catering apartment hotel, with all rooms serviced and all facilities contained. Very comfortable, good restaurant serving a variety of meals. Good breakfast selection. Airport bus stops out the front of the hotel for pickup.
Very clean and helpful staff.

Room Tip: For the business traveller on a longer visit who likes to be a bit more independent. Only double beds in rooms.

Property was in good shape. Staff very polite and helpful. We had a double standard room; no washer/dryer. Bathroom was very tiny with bidet toilet and glass shower. Separate wash basin/vanity before the bathroom. Good size wardrobe with robes and slippers provided. Small kitchen included fridge, micro, rice maker, toaster, knives, utensils, dishes, glasses, cups. Also hot water kettle for instant coffee and tea (provided daily). Mattresses were very firm, but we slept well on them. Nice bedding and pillows. A/C worked well after the bellboy set it for us. Location is about a 12 minute walk to the nearest City Hall station (entrance number 10). Then about another 10 minute walk to Myeondong shopping district. Hotel has a shuttle that will take you there, as well as Insadong, but only 2x per day, and no return. Hotel shuttle to Seoul Station runs hourly, but only between 1300-1800 daily. The hotel has a nice fitness center and indoor pool/hot tub in the basement level. Best part is the separate men's and women's spa facilities for free use 0700-2200 daily. Lockers, vanities, showers (both Korean and Western styles), steam room, sauna, and hot tub with cold plunge pool also. There is a decent, small, and cheap Korean restaurant across the back entrance, next to the 24 hour 7-11 store. We had shrimp fried rice with kimchi vegetables - $5000 KRW. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant or the sky bar. There is a sky terrace on the roof that gives you some nice views of Seoul. Take your camera up with you. Cab ride to/from hotel and Seoul Station cost $3000 KRW. Seoul Station to ICN Airport (either way) via AREX Express Shuttle currently cost $8000 KRW (less if on Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, and Jeju Air).

Hotel is in pretty decent location, it would have been nice if I knew before the reservation that there was major construction going on and that the kids play room, actually the whole second floor was shut down. We got the displeasure of having a room with the floor above us and below us under construction. Then the kids could not go play in the play room. I would not have booked the hotel had I known that.

The rooms are nice and modern with a good size bathroom. Free wifi is a plus. Be careful of the step up when you enter the room as you can smash your toe's if you forget about it.

Also the staff was extremely rude to me. They have a revolving door and a regular door. The regular door had a sign that said door is closed used revolving door. I have a 11 month old in a stroller, it was extremely difficult and dangerous to try to use the revolving door. When I got in I said to the front desk gentleman(I use that term loosely) that he should not lock the door, he just said why didn't you use the key and I said the note says that the door is locked and you should use the revolving door. He just kept insisting that I could have used my key to unlock it. I was too shocked to even try to explain his failed logic.

I think I would have had a better impression had I known that I was going to deal with construction and rude staff.

On a side note, behind the hotel is a great little cafe called Cafe Mamma's. Great sandwiches and salads.

Room Tip: Make sure you are not near the construction!!

Dear Guest

Thank you for staying Fraser Place Central Seoul and taking time to evaluate our product and services. We are sorry for the inconveniences caused by the renovation and the temporary closure of the kid's room.Nevertheless we are pleased to inform you that renovation has entered its final phase and is expected to be completed by end of November.

We would like to extend our apology for the inappropriate answer to your comment on the revolving door. We have investigated and found out that it was based on poor understanding of English language, which in turn resulted in this brusque reply. We will use this as a case study and include it in our "guest dialogue training" to ensure this remains an isolated incident.

Once again many thanks for your valuable feedback and hope to welcome you back in future.

Sincerely,

The Management

We booked a two bedroom, two bath room here for four nights for a family of 5, primarily because it allowed five people and had an in-room washer/dryer. The room was spacious with lots of closet space. Although worn (broken shower, jammed doors, worn furnishings, etc), it was mostly clean and comfortable. Our stay was marred by two issues. First, the LG/Tromm washer/dryer unit did not dry well and the staff refused to help; luckily, the internet has instructions on how to clean the unit (see summary instructions below). Second, although we had made reservations almost a month earlier, and received confirmation that the booking was fully paid for our family of 5, the hotel waited until our check-in to surprise us by refusing to honor the booking. They demanded an extra-person fee, an additional ~12% to the total booking price, because they said our 11-year old did not meet their definition of a child. The ages of our kids were included in the booking, and they read off the ages of our kids from their file, so they knew the whole time. So, with 3 hungry kids exhausted from traveling, laden with luggage, no transportation, poor Korean language skills, and no feasible alternatives, we were forced to pay the extra fee and a guarantee fee in case we decided to check-out early (~90% of the extra fees). This is generally considered extortion and fraud. To add insult to injury, for three of the four nights, they delivered only 3 bath towels.

Instructions: (a) remove cover on bottom left, (b) lay towel on floor, (c) uncork thin hose and drain (about 1-2 cups worth) into a container, replace, (d) turn black knob/lid next to hose (water will spill onto towel), clean filter and inside cavity, replace, (e) replace bottom cover, (f) clean lint between rubber seals of main door. We found a W500 coin, liquid detergent, and the expected lint. Dryer was still poor, but finally managed to produce dry clothes.

Our family stayed there from August 28 to September 1, 2015. We got the two bedroom suite and it was spacious and homey. The location was great as it’s in the center of Seoul. Transfers to and from the Airport to the hotel wasn’t hard since Bus 6005 literally stopped in front of the hotel. Hotel staff was very accommodating during our whole stay there. On our last night though the cover of the light in the master’s bedroom fell on the bed, good thing no one was sleeping yet. We reported it and they sent their building engineer but they weren’t able to fix it. They wanted us to transfer to another room but it was too much of a hassle as we were about to check out the next day, so we just told them to remove the light fixture for safety reasons. Everything about our stat was okay minus the light fixture incident. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone.
