Seoul is teeming with cafes of different personalities and this one has got its own. A place for dog lovers, place was well-kept and it is a lovely venue to spend one's time being surrounded by these friendlies big and small. It is mandatory to order something to drink and I personally like that they offer beer as an option. To me it is an advantage as I am not a coffee or a sweet iced drink fan.
Naturally, they gravitate toward those with food to offer but there are some extra charming dogs who would just approach you and sit near you. It could be because they were used to having people around.
I think a great advantage to the place is its cleanliness, which it owes greatly to its attentive staff. A dog pees and almost automatically, a staff would notice and immediately clean up. It gave me relief as I was initially hesitant to go as the place may be smelly I may end up having to change clothes afterwards.
Cafe is located in what seemed to me a less busy building - on one's right upon exiting on the 3rd of Hapjeong Station.

Whether you are a dog-lover or a non-dog lover, you will definitely have a good time at this dog café! There is no entrance fee to the café, but you must purchase a drink each, so your drink settles as the 'entrance fee'. When I was here, I ordered the banana milkshake, which set me back KRW 8,000. It was a little expensive, but you could stay in the café however long you want as long as you had ordered a drink, so it was worth the price!

Besides, the main attraction of the café would be the dogs. There are two sections to the café, one for the big dogs and one for the smaller ones. I went to both sections of the café, and personally, I preferred the section with the smaller dogs.

The section with the big dogs could be rather daunting for first-timers or those who are still a little afraid of dogs, but be rest assured that they would not bite you. The big dogs are rather practical; they would come to you if you have food for them (you can purchase food to feed the dogs from the counter). Otherwise, they would usually not stop for you to stroke them. You have to be more proactive if you want to stroke or pet them. They sometimes fight too, so just steer clear of them if you are afraid. Otherwise, it's fine actually. Oh, and yes, they do like to climb up the seats and tables and run around, so be prepared for that.

The smaller dogs were more affectionate in my opinion. When I went over to the section with the smaller dogs, one of them hopped up to the couch and snuggled into my lap and slept there. This section is also good for those who are not as comfortable with the bigger dogs.

The café can get a little noisy, especially when other visitors bring along their dogs. When this happens, the dogs in the café will start barking furiously to welcome the newcomer. The place is kept clean by the employees, and they clean up every clump of poo and pool of pee almost immediately, so there is no need to worry about the smell nor the hygiene.

To get here, take exit 3 of Hapjeong Station (Seoul Subway Line 2/Line 6), turn around, and turn left into the first alley you see. There should be a sign there that indicates "Bau House" and the café will be on your right.

If you're a dog lover this is the best place for you to visit. You get to enjoy their coffee and the company of different breed of dogs.

Bau House dog cafe served a little bit high price for the drinks (you can't eat here, the cafe didn't sell humans food) and as per their regulations, one person should order one drink in order to stay here.
But really, you are not going to spend time drinking here, but you are "paying drinks" to spend time with the dogs.

The dogs are lovely, they are well-groomed and they have dogs with different sizes (small dogs and big dogs are in separate area. You can choose to hang out with the smaller / bigger one). They are happy and well-fed.

Don't worry, this place is not as smelly as you imagined. The employees trying hard to keep this place clean by cleaning the dog's mess a second after they see it.

If you buy dogs treat, they can smell it from far away LOL. Be prepared to bathe yourself in fur wars (especially if you sit on the big dog's area!). You can touch the dogs, hug them, play with them, and no boundaries between you and the dogs. Don't imagine it as you-see-them-through-the-glasswall-thing, nope, you will interact directly with the dogs. So prepare for massive licking and the heavenly feeling of cuddling with dogs :)

I love dogs, and I definitely need to come back. Oops. MUST come back. I have several favorites now :)
