The Hub is an upmarket hotel located in the heart of the Villa Morra tourist district, in Asunción and just across the road from the main shopping mall.
The rooms are minimalist and very well appointed. The staff are friendly and low key, polite and unobtrusive. They only serve breakfast but it is very good - on the 10th floor terrace with a fine view over the city and the River Paraguay on the skyline. The terrace is a good place to relax and have a long self-service breakfast with a wide variety of foods available. The staff up there are also very courteous.
Perhaps my only gripe is the tendency to play foreign tinned musak as background music rather than any Paraguayan music, which is in fact ideal background and soothing music to listen to.
At USD90 per night, this is not a cheap hotel yet still more economical than the rather pretentious La Maison Hotel right next door. A good deal if you can afford it.More
