I booked this place after reading some of the reviews on here, they were way off the mark.
I booked for 3 nights and left after one its so bad, old, cold, non functional, doors did not close, bathrooms are 100 years old, AC did not work, breakfast was awful.
And worst of all its in a rundown dilapidated unsafe area with drunks and homeless people, I even saw one man pee on the footpath without a care in the world.
This is a nice city, stay elsewhere.

Hopefully it will be of benefit to you, in order to avoid further confusions.

The building is tastefully decorated in a low-key style with some antiques. Rooms are large and equipt with television, air-conditioning and refrigerator. The breakfast is a good spread with fruit, rolls, cold cuts, cheese, excellent coffee, juice -- and even a light, delicious cake made by the owner.
She and the staff are aimiable and extremely helpful.

Room tip: Ask for the third floor, which has a terrace, from which you can see the Paraguayo River. Also sit a while in the grand sitting room.

Nice old building, very friendly and helpful staff, well located close to the center.
Breakfast was very good as well. Missed the scrambled eggs, but it was a good start.
Would come back here for sure!
