It is difficult to write a review of this place because of how it is priced. It is priced as the most expensive luxury hotels in Georgetown and both the food and the rooms are as far you can get from luxury and good quality of food. From this perspective it is a total rip-off to go to Arrowpoint. In addition to this... no bar, no wi-fi, no tv, no ironing, no hair dryer, no aircon, leaking roof etc etc...

With this out of the way let me focus on what Arrowpoint really is...

It is a beautiful and peaceful resort in the rainforest with friendly staff, a river where you can swim, kayaks to paddle and where you can do walks in the rainforest with the guide (Edward) who are skilled, helpful and friendly. It is nice... in the mornings waking up to the sound of the birds and other wildlife. It is nice to view the sunset with someone you love and a drink (if you brought something yourself to drink).

Going to the resort with a boat thru the narrow forrest creaks is exciting, beautiful and memorable too. Both me and my wife enjoyed staying there last weekend. We don´t need high quality and high standard all the time. Simple can be good but we don´t like to pay for under performance. We would have enjoyed it more if it was not totally overpriced or if the variety and quality of food and standard of rooms was double the quality of what it was.

Room Tip: All rooms are VERY simple with thin wooden walls. Ask for renovated room.

My husband and I, along with a group of friends, did a day tour to this facility which included a stop at the Arawak village. We did a nature walk through the forested area and then kayaked back to the Arrowpoint resort through the Kamuni Creek. The Kayak was the high point of the experience as it was a lesson in couples communication and coordination. Most couples made it back to base uneventfully but my husband and I encountered a branch and somehow became one with the creek. The tour guides were swift to retrieve, bail and get us back into the kayak. We have an interesting story to tell the grand kids later in life. The food on return to base was just what the doctor ordered - DELICIOUS! The only off putting thing to folks may be the colour of the creek water but we were assured it is "clean" - there was lots of bottled water for drinking.

Room Tip: We saw lovely individual cabins but did not get a chance to look in. This is ideal for those not afraid of the rustic.

Not far from Georgetown, very scenic boat ride in the Demerara River then up a Creek and passing the Amerindian Village of Santa Mission along the way.

The warm black Waters are fun to swim , kayak or fish. Long bike trails and then kayak up the creek. The food is excellent and the people are kind and helpful.

Especially love the night trecks and bonfires. Also the location is powered by solar and you get to enjoy the total tranquility of the tropical rainforest falling asleep every night.

The Best nature resort in Guyana that I have visited.

This was a great day trip from Georgetown. A lot of outdoor activities in the rainforest. My favorite was the kayaking & then swimming in the jungle river. Lunch was also a great surprise. I did not have my hopes up for a good meal but it was so good with a lot of options whether you like meat or vegetarian. Only thing I thought that could have been better was the hike. It was too easy for me so I would have liked a longer more strenuous hike but if you want a casual stroll through the jungle then you'll be a fan.

Guyana is replete with great, non-city-based resorts, but, due to the size of the country, most need to be accessed by a long drive or a plane flight. Not so with Arrowpoint which is but a short bus and boat ride from Georgetown. On the trip we visited an Amerindian village, a jungle walk followed by a kayak return to the resort and, after dinner, a mountain bike ride along the jungle tracks.

The food was excellent and the whole day was excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Didnt actually stay at the hotel. Day trip only
