I have done the sunset desert safari with Hala twice, and both times I had the most amazing experience. Our guide Shakir was fantastic - professional, experienced and willing to share his knowledge in a fun way! We were picked up at 3.30 in a state of the art Hala Nissan Patrol and were first taken to a camel farm. During the 40 min drive Sakir gave us really good insights into the history, culture and local traditions. At the camel farm we were able to feed the camels, and we learned about the importance of them. We were also offered fresh camel milk, which has many health benefits, and it was also really tasty.
Next stop was at the camel nursery where all the pregnant camels are taken to give birth in their natural surroundings. We saw the cutest baby camels!
Then is off to the dune bashing, which can be as extreme or gentle as desired, depending on likes of the group. Even when we did the most scary drops we always felt safe as Shakir was such an experienced driver. There were some amazing photo opportunities as the trip is timed perfectly to enjoy the beautiful desert sunset.
Finally we got to the camp, where we did some sand-boarding and camel rides. Shakir had reserved a lovely table for us so we had a great view of the belly dancer show.Food is great and there are some other attractions such as falcons, henna tattoos, etc.
We got back to the hotel around 10pm, exhausted but extremely satisfied with a packed experience. I highly recommended it!
