Review of The Corniche

The Corniche

It is a wonderful late evening activity to do in Beirut. Restaurants are very expensive on the corniche, so it is better to enjoy local cuisine downtown somewhere (for example LIZA's restaurant). But having a drink or a homemade ice-cream and stroll along the corniche is just so peaceful and upscale. You see nicely dressed people, as it is a quiet expensive area. You don't need to consume anything, just enjoy the walk and the view onto the skyline with the beautiful Four Seasons and the Phoenicia hotel...

If you visit Beirut in the summer I recommend a walk in the evening when the sun is down. It's wonderful. Full of people, very safe, very relaxing. We started our walk from Corniche el Manara all the way up to Zaytuna Bay. Weather was perfect, ideal temperature. We completed our walk with a drink in one of the cafes near the Clock Tower. Wonderful, relaxing experience

The corniche isn't very fancy, it's good for a long walk and breathing some fresh air. Also you might consider the great range of restaurants & cafes along the whole corniche.

Gorgeous view. Shoreline has not been modified. Flanked by the American University of Beirut campus.
Walk all the way up to the Rouche rocks. Gorgeous sight.
Again, sunrise is your best bet !
Sunset would have been awesome too but I will hold off my commentary!
