As i was staying near the church, i got a chance to visit the holy place. Must for kids and people who have faith in christianism.
I liked the history showcased through the museum and the tour of the church.

Highlight was visiting the big bell on the top of the church.

One of the good attraction of Madaba. It was evening, when we visited. Old man welcomed us with a smile. He showed us museum. We could find lot of details , good pictures about History of Jordan. Mosaic map copy is available. Inside church beautiful paintings. We can take photo. We can inside the tunnels of church. Also we can climb steps and go to bell tower. We can get panoramic view of city. Worth visit. This will add value to your visit to Madaba.

There are a lot of interesting places in central Madaba and this is one of them.
Well preserved building with significant history and staffed by knowledgable and friendly people.

Walked a bit uphill from the town center and found a nice quiet church with some beautiful mosaics, a few tunnels and a cave under the church, a stair to a bell tower. Staff didn't speak English but were friendly.

This was a great little hidden spot when visiting Madaba. It costs 1 JD to visit. Staff was very knowledgeable about the church and the region as a whole, able to talk about the historical and biblical sites and events represented here. The two coolest aspects about this place are the bell tower and the well. You can climb to the top of the bell tower (definitely not up to American safety standards, but that made it more exciting in my opinion) and got a 360 view of the city and countryside with the gold domed mosque literally just a stones throw away below you. The old Moabite well was also very cool. You can walk under the church and see some mosaics and other recreations, which are fine, but the well was one of the unrestored pieces. We pulled up some water and some in our group drank it but I wouldn’t recommend that.
