Welcomed by friendly staff and been upgraded to a suite without asking, is really a treat. Villa Dia is located in a quiet area of Amman, close by other hotels, local shopping and restaurants. The suite we stayed is roomy, large bedroom and living room. The free WiFi is excellent and strong in signal. Satellite TV with enough English channels to choose from. When using the shower, you bet the entire bathroom floor is flooded just because they installed a cheap shower head mounted too high on the wall be the core of the problem. Needs attention and fixing. Overall we had a good experience and for very good value.

Room Tip: All the rooms and suites are the same

I spent one full day in Amman (two nights). Prior to my trip I had arranged to stay at Villa Dia Guesthouse. Because arrival in Amman was at 2 in the morning, the hotel offered an arranged taxi transfer from the airport at a price of JOD 25 (around 35 Euros). This was a convenient arrangement that gives some peace of mind, particularly when you arrive in a big city for the first time. The guesthouse itself operates under a different philosophy than a standard hotel: Basically the guests are left alone. If a guest needs any type of service (e.g. room cleaning), then he/she has to request it. Communication is usually done by phone, although during morning hours someone is at the reception. When you call a designated number, you get a response by the guesthouse owner (excellent English) or his assistant (practically non-existent English). Through the phone conversation or face to face conversation in the morning one could make any kind of arrangements regarding hotel stay, get information about Amman or make taxi arrangements in and out of Amman. Both the owner and his assistant were very helpful and friendly. The air-conditioned room was large and clean with a very comfortable mattress. A kettle and a fridge were also in the room. The hotel is located in a nice area of Amman near Rainbow street. One can walk to the centre of the city or the archaeological site (around half an hour) or take a taxi (1.5-2 Euros). There are some restaurants and cafes nearby. I think that things can be improved in the hotel if more attention is paid to details: Things that are broken should be fixed; maps of Amman for the guests; some colour and decoration in the rooms (the lobby and the corridors are nicely decorated, but not the rooms). Price per night: 42 JOD (52 Euros). Only cash is accepted, no credit cards.

We stayed for three nights and we're happy here. Studio room was adequate for family of 3 but no bed provided for our son as the hotel had said they had a no children policy. We spoke to the manager and in the end he said our son could stay in the room but he had to sleep on the sofa bed cushions on the floor. We could hear a baby in a another room so they obviously do allow children but be careful before you book.

Nice enough place, no meals or anything other then the room but quiet, clean and comfy.

Having arrived in Amman at ca. 5:00am, we had a booking for Villa Dia Guest House that coming evening for two nights, but could only check in at 10:00am. Being jetlagged and tired, we contacted the manager who without hesitation told us that they would have a room available as soon as we arrived at the hotel instead of making us wait till 10:00 for no additional cost to the original booking. Excellent customer service!

Our stay there for three nights overall was very pleasant and comfortable. The rooms were spacious and the location was only a short walk (15mins) from the downtown restaurants and sights, such as the amphitheatre. Although we did get a good work out with he number of hills there are around Amman!

The only downside was that it may have needed a bit of a refresh in the bathroom, but nothing drastic.

Overall we were very happy with our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone else!

Within walking distance to Rainbow Street ( restaurants ), this is a quite guest house with private parking. Don't be afraid to come by rental car. Just approach Amman from the west and drive from 7th circle, to 6 th circle, to 5th, to 4th, .... till you are are 2nd circle. Take the fifth exit. Rooms are large but its sitting area is not as cosy as you might expect from the bedroom pictures on the internet. Hard beds, and clean. No breakfast opportunities but supermarket is only 200 meters away. Breakfast at nearby (400 meters) coffee shop at 5 JOD/4p. Taxi to Citadel at 3 JOD.
