Excellent food. All is fresh. Great recipes. Very hospitable staff. Really underrated. Very highly recommended. Great value.

We walked up to the restaurant at lunch time, there were no other customers but the two guys hanging around the door gave us no hard sell to enter. But we had already done our research and took our seats by the window. We ordered prawns in butter and garlic for a first course, A nice sized portion with fresh bread. For main course we had the salted sea bass for two and it came to the table aflame, the waiter showing his serving skill. Fresh as can be, very meaty fish served with a nice fresh side salad,

The guys working here are very friendly, the restaurant is decorated with some nice hanging lamps which gave me an idea for souvenirs, Had we more time, we definitely would have returned to eat here again and explore the menu further.

Simple but great tasting food, friendly service, just up the road from Basilica Cistern, prices good if you are on a budget.

Me and my wife spent one week in Istanbul and tried food in many different restaurants.
This evening we decided to have fish for dinner. We spent few minutes on tripadvisor reviewing fish restaurants and based on the reviews decided to visit Sultanahmet Fish House.
Restaurant was very good, excellent staff different from other restaurants in the same area.
When we approached restaurant and started reviewing menu outside person approached us but did not start advertising his menu straight away and was not pulling us into the restaurant.
We chose our fish and it was prepared very quickly and it tasted very good and fresh.
We wanted to have a tea after the meal and despite there was no tea in menu they made a proper tea for us for free.
Good atmosphere in restaurant with good staff and food is a good choice for evening.
