I loved this hotel. It is very good located, the rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel also has some good restaurants. I tried out three of them and I loved the food and service. I recommend the vegetable sandwich (see photo). Very good dining options if you don’t want to visit a restaurant outside because of the cold . In the beginning of my stay my experience was not that positive. When we arrived we got a room on the 14th floor. This room was was unbearable hot. When we complained about the temperature they immediately Put a fan in our room but the room stayed hot. We told the front desk that we at least wanted a temperature in our room that was comparable to that of other parts in the hotel and not the suffocating temperature in our room. Furthermore, in my opinion you should not settle for a fan when you pay for a stay at a five star hotel. We got a new room on the 13th floor and we really enjoyed our stay. Will visit again if we have to visit this beautiful city again.

I picked this hotel based on the cool architecture (it looked so exciting and modern in photos), and the inexpensive price. While my room felt a bit dated, it was good value for the price I paid; very spacious and with a nice view of Ulaanbaatar. It's in a great location, right on Sükhbaatar Square. I found the breakfast buffet a bit wanting, but the hotel's Korean restaurant was very nice. But my biggest compliment would go to the excellent staff. They were always very helpful, most especially the incredible doorman. I was suffering from a cold and was looking for a decongestant. The doorman not only pointed the way to the closest pharmacy, he also offered to come with me to make sure I found what I needed. Now that's 5-star service! I was very impressed.

Ulaanbaatar is quite an experience... chaos with pockets of order. The Blue Sky is a pocket of order.

The positive. Every staff person spoke English and was most helpful in anything we needed. Mostly - in assisting in calling for a professional taxi. (There are imposters). If I were to go back it would be for the staff mainly. Origil is a desk manager and he was informative and professional. He represented excellence.

The not so good. The rooms are nice but they need updated, the smell from the restaurants overwhelm the hallways, the internet was spotty and the temperature controls were all but useless. Mongolia as a whole has little concept of temperature control.

One opinion - the Blue sky is the most distinctive building in UB. I found it odd that is wasn’t illuminated at night. It would be a strong focal point.

When in UB there are only 2 places to stay and the Blue sky is one.

PS - make sure and tip the staff - desk clerks, bellman etc. the wages in UB are low so they could use any help.

While the whole glass window looks aesthetically attractive, the sun shine straight into the room. They can’t turn on the ac, I guess the hotel us using some centralized ac/heating system. My room is unexceptionally hot and stuffy. Receptionist sent a fan, open up the small window, and asked to wait until sunset to get the room temperature cold down. The corridor is well ventilated with ac, but the room is not.

I feels like I’m staying in a cheap guesthouse with good quality linen & bedding, but with rotatable fan spewing hot air.

You do the judgement. I would suggest not to stay here during the too humid/hot season.
