I stayed for 3 nights while attending a regional meeting in the ballroom. On the first day of the meeting, I was locked in the restroom due to the faulty lock. There was warning on how to lock the door inside the toilet room, but I read it lately. Changing the lock should be advisable to prevent other guest trapped in the room.

We were booked here by a tour company, and would have chosen a different hotel had we had the choice. It is a huge hotel probably more suited to business than holiday-visitors. The room was adequate, but not luxurious, and overlooked the swimming pool and a busy street. There is no wifi in the rooms, you have to sit in the lobby to use the free wifi - it costs for room access. There was an ethernet point, I don't know whether that was free to use or not. The bathroom was small and functional, with not enough room for our own toiletries, and there was a need for more hooks. Breakfast was plentiful with good bakery products, and fruit - the yogurts were delicious. Tea and coffee were served by waiters who could have refilled our cups more often - they were hardly overrun, there was only one other person at breakfast each day we were there. Staff were helpful and pleasant. We had tea in the lobby and we stunned at the cost of this - it cost more than some London hotels. Had done this to use the wifi, so beware. The entrance to the hotel is designed for transport, not for people who walk out, so again, beware your back if walking into the city. The hotel is reasonably central, and you can walk to the river in ten minutes or so.

The hotel is guest's visual delight from outside, for interiors and the design. However staffs need to improve themselves as far hospitality or solving issues concerning guests. Food is ok ok and needs improvement, however considering Vientiane's lazy and sleepy culture, this hotel is far better than many.

Was staying round the corner in a nice boutique hotel. On a walk about I came across Lao Plaza Hotel. Walked in and asked for the rates. Quoted 1.5 million kip for 1 night. As I was working out how much this was the beautiful receptionist said can do room 1m kip. So I booked this for the following day.
Arrived a little early for check in. (10.45) no problem. And also booked free shuttle to airport for my check out.
Room on 5th floor overlooking the pool. Room large clean and modern. Good wifi. Tv air con safe complimentary water. Robes. Slippers.
All in all a great room.
Staff all very helpful and nice.
Spent the day by the pool and the sunbeds are very comfortable. Pool is clean.
Large gym facilities all great modern equipment
This is in the centre and everywhere is easily accessible.
I would stay here again.

Breakfast and coffee is terrible and maybe when the cafe is always empty. Room is clean and spacious but the common area badly needs an uplift.

Location is superb, close access to the river, cool cafe and restaurants within walking distances. Only if the concerige can speak better English and explained that the restaurants and sights are very near by for a freshly arrived tourist then to spend hired expensive taxi also due to communication breakdown I paid use60 for a hired taxi organised with the help of the front desk to Buddha park and 3 other sites near by which was supposed to be a full day end up asked to returned to hotel after 4 houra than 7hrs.
