We stayed 2 nights at Mia, one night in a Garden view villa and one night in beachfront with pool villa.

The hotel itself is very nice, the lobby has an amazing view and has a very relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are very nice and both villas had the exact same interior: very well maintained, very clean and very functional. Nice design and comfortable. The negative part is that both villas lack of privacy especially the beachfront villa where the villa are very close from each other’s and as they separate them with vegetation (good) it is not private at all when you want to use the pool or the sitting area. The private pool has no ladder or stairs which is kind of odd.

Before explaining why we didn’t like the service, it is important to point out that there is a new manager that arrived 3 days prior to our arrival so all that might change quickly: the check in went very smoothly but nothing makes the arrival special except for the nice view. We were given different vouchers to try the spa, the Mojito bar and also scuba diving in the pool. All those voucher are of course to advertise what the resort can offer. We wanted to do some scuba diving. As one of us was certified and not the other, she tried the scuba diving in the pool with a nice person from the diving center the hotel works with. After the trial, we decided we would go do a real Padi discover the next day and we asked the staff who told us we would have to ask the reception. We went up to the reception, were directed to the tour organizer desk and started to explain what we wanted. I have never seen someone so clueless about her job. She had no idea how it worked, made us loose 30 min, explained really complicated things and needed to go ask someone else at every question we had. Anyway, at some point everything seemed to be organized and we left. An hour later when we asked for a buggy, when we got in, she simply told me, “btw the price she gave you is wrong it doesn’t include everything”. I went to the reception, the receptionist started to explain again nonsense stories so I decided to cancel. Why would they advertise diving if they are not even able to organize a simple scuba discover trip; except annoying guests and showing their incompetence I really don’t see the use.

The restaurant staff is really nice but I find it odd that they start to move everything around at 9pm when it supposedly closes at 1am. We had dinner at 9pm and enjoyed all the tables moving, shouting between two staff members just like if no one was there, moving garbage; very weird. Western food was not good but the Vietnamese food was delicious. We also enjoyed the Vietnamese buffet on Wednesday and it is a must. All the food is good and you get to try lots of local dishes. I don’t know if it is by pride of their food or not but the staff was particularly friendly, smiling all around during this dinner and very helpful to recommend what to take with what.

The pool area is very crowded and it is a shame because the swimming pool is gorgeous.

The main issue I have with this hotel is how impersonal the staff is. They just don’t seem to care about the guests which is not what you would expect from a 5 stars hotel. Too bad, great grounds, poorly managed. Hopefully the new manager will turn this place around to the amazing place it could be.

First impression wow what a well maintained resort. Fabulous location away from the hustle and bustle of Nha Trang real luxury. My wife and I booked a short stay here at the end of our whistle stop tour of Vietnam. After reading reviews we couldn't wait to arrive.
Rooms are well appointed. We booked a garden room villa which although quite pricey at around £180 a night was well worth the money. The rustic yet perfectly designed villas are quite luxurious. So the resort and pool beach area fantastic no complaints there what so ever. So why rate 3stars this is plain and simple. Paying full rate with no deals in the UK offered my wife and I were very disappointed to find many of the other guests from Australia and New Zealand had paid a fraction of what we did. And to rub salt into the wounds also had even been upgraded to the same rooms we were in as apposed to the cheaper condos they had booked. They were quite vocal to let us know this and also for a fraction had daily massages and cooking lessons. Whilst we got charged for everything we used.As British tourists we felt like we had been disrespected and although we had paid full price for our lovely villa we were not shown any loyalty for doing so. This then causes a two tier system where some feel like they have been juped into paying more. We spoke to other British holiday makers who felt the same. Why do some get a whole array or perks for staying at the resort whilst those paying a lot of money mainly British get nothing. It did make my wife and I feel like we had been taken for fools. The Australian customers were heard laughing at how funny it was that the English always pay more. For this reason unless something changes the reviews will carry on being negative. A luxury resort should not have a portion of its customers feeling like theyre disadvantaged because they didnt get a bargain deal. Does the hotel want to be known for this in the UK?

Firstly I would like to thank you for taking the time to write your review on here for other travelers.
With regards to the concerns you raised regarding rates etc - as with all properties in the leisure market we occasionally run Flash Sales promotions which we make widely available on the Web. This is not targeted at specific countries or markets at all but at the global on-line community as a whole.
You are more than welcome to voice your concerns directly to me at any point as well.
I do hope we will welcome you back to Vietnam in the near future.

We loved Mia Resort. We stayed in Gardenview Villa for 3 nights in February 2015. We arranged airport pick up and the driver prepared cold water and hand towels for us. Welcome drink was delicious! (sugercane drink)
Spacious bathroom and amenities are superb. Only thing we want to say about the bathroom was that the hot water in the shower didn't last long (only good for one person shower). Maybe it was just our villa but you have to wait a bit to get more hot water.
It is one of the first hotels that are closest from the airport but it means far from downtown Nha Trang. Mia resort provides shuttle bus service to Nha Trang. We personally did not enjoy much of downtown area. Very touristy. We enjoyed our stay in the resort much more than visiting downtown. Amazing beach and good food (downtown food we found not so good).
We highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Nha Trang.

This is a fabulously located hotel (don't worry about the main road, there's very little noise), with its own private beach and the architecture of a proper Bond super-villain's hideaway. The grounds are immaculate and the grounds staff are very friendly (even when they're mowing the grass on the villa roofs). The pool is very nice, although the chemical composition is a bit odd, I'm guessing salt water with pool chemicals - it's very astringent so it's hard to swim properly for any length of time. The beach is great and very clean, and the rooms were comfortable if feeling a little tired, most of the wooden fittings were damaged in some way. So, a proper luxury resort.

However, the front of house service definitely needs a kick up the pants, and after four nights we were glad we were leaving. There's no single big problem, but lots of little ones which cumulatively spoil the experience. The front of house staff seem very forced indeed. Smiles were handed out as grimaces, and we were regularly harassed by staff wanting to engage us in very forced conversations about our holiday (nothing like the genuine friendly curiosity of the Vietnamese). There was no sense of real welcome.

We also had a lot of inflexibility from the staff, clearly they have no ability to make decisions or change things without permission from the management. Changes to menu items or extra bits for the room fell on deaf ears.

Other things which grated include:
- the website advertises paddle boards and kayaks, but these are charged per use, and are in a dangerously badly-maintained condition. My son cut his leg on the poor patching job on a kayak, and I wouldn't let him use the paddle board because of dangerous patching. He took one out for a spin and as soon as he hopped out to come and tell us about it, a member of staff took the paddle away and insisted we pay again for another go.
- ditto the snorkels and masks advertised on the website were split and perished. We asked for more but nothing was done about it (given that the shuttle bus parks outside a dive shop three times a day, clearly there was no intention to do so).
- the shuttle bus runs just three times a day, and will not wait (even when I begged that I needed just 5 minutes in town).
- the seating in the cocktail bar looks great, but couldn't be more uncomfortable if it was made out of hedgehogs and little blue plastic chairs.
- there is little air conditioning in the public areas, and in the gym and business centre it is left switched off. This is all very green, but no use when you arrive at a gym that's 35 degrees. I tried using the business centre, and within minutes was soaked with sweat, and couldn't find anyone who knew how to make the cooling work.
- speaking of the business centre, it's three tired poverty-specification Dell PCs in the corner of a big conference room, and they're not capable of doing much.
- paraffin lamps on the restaurant tables at night which look lovely but stink something awful (try using odourless fuels)

Our very unpleasant closing moment was being accused of stealing a cotton laundry bag from our room as we were loading into our taxi. We'd never received a bag when the laundry was returned (they'd destroyed a pair of shorts in the process but not apologised). There was no flexibility or understanding that maybe the hotel might be in the wrong over such a trivial item. I'm awaiting my credit card bill to see if they've tried to charge us for it.

It left a very bad taste in the mouth, and we certainly wouldn't return here unless the service improves.

I guess the first thing to say is this resort is not a 5 star resort, and it is quite limited in what it offers. Personally, I don't think the golf buggy system is good enough, and there needs to be an elevator next to the stairs going from Sandals to Reception. But your view of this resort is going to depend on what you want from your resort; so if you want privacy and quietness then it's the place. But if you want variety and activity then forget it - go to a large place with 5 resturants. I would strongly recommend don't take your family here, it's really a couples place where you literally do nothing.
If you come here be sure to have a spare $US1000 to upgrade your spa package. The spa service is excellent and apart from well manicured gardens, it is the highlight of what the resort offers, and you should indulge.
Overall its a very peaceful resort and the staff go out of there way to be polite and engaging. It's simply limited by its size, location, and facilities.
