We were quite excited to visit the local market. It is huge and you can find about anything you want. Just be very insistent in not allowing an over friendly English speaker to invite you to visit her store. They get you there and try to sell outrageously overpriced clothing.

Just enjoy the experience of seeing the market.

A better option is Ben Ngu market. No pressure. Use sign language.

If you want market overload then this is the place! Hundreds of small stalls from fish in bowls, exotic fruits, fake money and fake suits to offer ancestors to clothing. No point in browsing. You can be followed by stall holders who won’t take no for an answer! Haggling is a must. I managed at least 50%. An experience, especially if you don’t get knocked over by the mopeds on the way. An hour is more than enough, I think.

Nothing much of tourist interest. Crowded and one has to slither through the narrow aisles with two-wheelers hustling you all the time. Skip it.

Wonderful authentic experience and best to come early in the morning. Lots of haggling and interaction among the sellers. We were the only non-Asians there. Worth a look for half an hour.

Yesterday we visited early in the morning as part of a Hue all day tour. Our guide took us through a retail area, but today, my husband and I walked through the wholesale are which was very interesting. We were there around 1:00 as people were finishing up business before resting time. Lots of coming and going with overloaded motor bikes and carts with loads of everything you can imagine -chickens who survived the day, huge bags of rice, flowers, and on and on. So glad we went back. Loved just standing in one spot and watching the action. We’ve been to many markets around the world, but being in the thick of things here was very interesting!
