My wife and I took my Mum and Auntie. They loved it, beautiful view of the temple from the view point before heading down into it so be sure to snap a few photos there first. 2 hours will give you plenty of time to see everything. Slightly pricey at 500 baht per person. Loved that the elephants were not chained up also, they look well looked after and get to walk around.

Situated at one extreme end of busy Pattaya life, Sanctuary of Truth is beauty in itself. Whole of the complex is built in wood of different kinds. Extensively carved depicting various stories of life. A must visit place.

Very interesting, had lunch at a restaurant on the land, it was not very busy and the food was great, but it seemed to take for ever to get the food.
The temple is awesome and the 3.30 dance show was good

Others have said this - this isn't a functioning temple - it is a very impressive building built in the style of a temple.

If you are staying for a week or so in Pattaya and want to see the more family friendly sights this is certainly one of them and as a building is quite awe inspiring!

As a site however this is not great - as you enter there is no clear indication where to buy tickets, when you have your tickets you pass a tiny pen perhaps a meter square containing a few goats and a reasonable sized field baron of any grass with a distressed looking horse in it and a stall offering to sell you tiny handfuls of grass for 20THB to feed it.

Slightly further on is a viewing platform with a lot of foliage blocking what could be an amazing view of the temple.

Down to the temple level and there are some unhappy looking elephants who are used for tourist rides (and not the elephant friendly type)

The temple itself is simply awe inspiring from the outside and in. That said, unless you are an architect or an historian, you are probably going to be a bit bored 30 minutes after arriving.

This imposing temple is a true work of art. The quality of the woodwork is exemplary and the staff were kind enough to let us get involved with some wood carving. This is a great escape just on the fringes of Pattaya. Highly recommended.
