Nice food. They cooked by charcoal so it took a bit long. Kai larn with tipo is very nice. But fried food is a bit too oily. Ice cream is a bit too sweet. Overall, food is nice if you dont mind the ambient.

We arrived unfortunately just as at our group got there. We were pretty patient until it became apparent that all the other groups, including a Thai couple who arrived after us, we're being served but we and our 5 year old daughter may as well have been invisible. We waited 1.5 hours to get served anything. We only ordered three dishes. One was egg fried rice for our daughter, it never even arrived, despite us asking for it 3 times it turned out that they had never even written it down. Our daughter fell asleep at the table without getting anything to eat. We gave up and left paying a whopping bill for mediocre food and absolutely appalling service. They honestly could not have cared less and given that we were nothing less than polite and patient throughout it was completely unwarranted. I think what surprised me the most was that we live in China and a young child would never be ignored and left hungry at a restaurant there. I would never ever go there again. I

We have been going to this restaurant for more than 10 years. It is a must go place during our visit to Bangkok. The food is always good whether it is the crabmeat Cheung fun, noodles with goose legs, oysters with eggs, rice with black olive or rice with taro. But my favorite is the toast suckling pig which you have to order before hand. Yesterday I went there for the first time since their relocation to China town. But if you call the, before hand they will send you the location via the map in the smart phone.
Yesterday I was wet treated by the young chap who I suppose is the owner's son. He speaks very good English and is very thoughtful with every attention to the details. Knowing that there were just the two of us he ordered some extra small size dishes so that we could try more varieties.
The restaurant has been there for more than 100 years and are still upholding the traditional way of cooking. I will surely continue to get back every time I am in Bangkok

They have moved to a new address at near Hua Lam Pong train station at #-Yek Mor Mee. Visited them recently and the owner is still running the kitchen and the food quality remains the same. Famous for fresh oyster omelet Tae Jiu style (Orr Suen), oyster on pancake (Orr Lua), baked thousand bones fish in black bean (Chi Kak),
slight curry minced meat noodle with egg (Ba Song Kuew cha Nung). Sweet of course, their famous coffee or green tea ice cream. (If daring, try Durian).Overall, a still good Tae Jiu restaurant of the old tradition. My family has frequented his restaurant since his father time. Call 02-221-6025 if you cannot find the new place.
