Just as you go through the front door from Petchburi Road into the plaza, there is a small restaurant, which is self contained, but within the building.
We ate there one evening and were very pleased with the quality and cost of our food. The restaurant was approximately half full, but it seemed as though lots of people were coming in for takeaways.
We had a little look round at the technical stuff, which was piled up, but would not buy so far from home.

It was nice to see the variety but I was surprised that the price level was so high. Was hoping for some great offers, but I didn't see any.

The quality of the shops and products has been improving greatly between my yearly visits here. I believe now that there is only top quality repairers and products now.

I'm usually not the nostalgic type, but the place used to be a happy mess of gadgets of dubious usefulness. It has been mostly reorganized and has now lost its originality. Now it's very similar to Singapore's Simlin with the same deals that you can find everywhere in the world.
Go there if you know what you want to buy, but browsing for original goods is now a thing of the past.

Pantip Plaza used to be "the" place to go for electronics and IT items. It consists of many floors of IT and electronics vendors. I have been visiting it about once per year for many years, but found it to be in slow steady decline. Vendors are a bit too pushy in trying to sell their wares, and the selection is "so-so". Most of the emphasis has shifted to selling cellphones and cellphone related paraphernalia. One disdvantage is that it is not right at a train station, so one has to plan on using a taxi ir to walk a bit to get to it.
There are a couple of picturesque eateries at the top floor if you are accustomed to local food.
So not plan on returning items for refund; this is actually a common problem throughout Southeast Asia. In the Philippines, for example, they will open and try a stereo set before you buy it, but once you buy it you cannot return it. The same attitude is present at Pamtip Plaza and most places in that part of the world.
