We were a couple planning to hire a boat for an hour with a boatman. The rates were displayed on a board and the price for our activity was around 550 npr. At the ticket counter though, a rather irate person informed us that our activity wasn't available and that only the numbers 11,12 and 13 on the fare list were available which were all more expensive. We then chose boating from one end of lake to another for 1200 npr. When asked about the time duration, we were told it would take about an hour and half. When we got to the boats, we were informed that we got to pay extra if we desired a covered boat. I'm quite sure the extra money would have been pocketed by the boatman. Since it was an evening, we were happy to chose a boat without a canopy. Halfway towards the tal barahi temple, we were offered to be taken to the middle of the lake if we desired, for an extra 500 npr. The boatman told us that rowing from one end to another, and back to lakeside would take less than half hour. We could extend it by paying the extra 500 npr. We paid it and enjoyed an extra half hour on the beautiful lake. The lake was very picturesque. Not sure if others had such experiences too.
