Unlike most travellers in Nepal, we came ill-equipped with a plan. We were walking one day with the aim to have a trekking plan, when we walked into this friendly establishment. We first made inquiries about iteneraries, flight tickets, porter; and soon we were on our way. That easy! The best thing is our guide Prem, who speaks good English, and very respectful and fun. He has got the right combination. He never failed to remind us of very important things to consider (for example, at high altitude, make sure you have drinking water next to you, as you would surely feel dry and thirsty; we forgot one night despite his reminder, and we paid for it). So the company is friendly, and truly wishes for one to enjoy and have great memories of our trekking experience. We flew into Jomson and went up and down Muktinath. We could have gone to Thorong La Pass, but again, our fault, we were not prepared. One good thing, the company does not make promises, they said, the mountain will judge whether you can push ahead or not. And true enough. But Prem has good alternative side trips. I highly recommend.

We were very impressed when we walked into Cosmic Trekking. Yadu was able to tell us about all of the treks in the area. What raised Cosmic Trekking above other trekking agencies in Nepal was Yadus willingness to take the time to answer all of our questions. He pulled out a Manaslu map and showed us how we could spend three weeks. He was very informative and didn't pressure us to make a decision that day. He took the time to work with us and make sure we found the trek we wanted.

We decided to trek around Manaslu and Yadu found us an experienced guide. Our guide, Maduman, was amazing! I am so glad we had him to help us. We saw other guides asking him for help. Maduman made sure we had a good, clean place to sleep every day.

When we come back to Nepal, we are going to request Maduman as our guide again!

Yadu Pokharel was the one who assist us in getting our TIMS and ACAP Permit. He's very friendly and he really understands our need when we say we are going on a budget. He settled it quite fast within a day.

It cost us about 200USD for 2PAX which include:
1 .ACAP Permit
2. TIMS Card
3. Guide/Porter (1 man doing both job)
4. Taxi from any Hotel/Guest House two way journey


Exclude Food and Accomodation as we rather have our own choice of food and accomodation which was way cheaper, which means we DON'T have to pay for the Guide/Porter expenses or accomodation too.

But at the end of the day we did tip our Guide/Port about 10% of the total 4days cost. Which he really deserve in guiding us and aslo carry our stuff.

All in all we had a good 4days trekking in Poon Hill.
