Murchison Falls Natl Park has the Nile, scores of species of animals and birds, miles and miles of game drives. Four days was not too much! Miriam organized it flexibly to change as the participants did. The driver was fabulous - I got every photo I wanted! The experience of a lifetime! Chimp trek at Budongo Eco-Lodge to start off, a boat ride on the Nile up to the Falls, where Churchill coined the phrase, "the Pearl of Africa" with reference to Uganda --Kagera Safaris is the pearl of safari organizers!

This trip was the most exhilarating of my life! Uganda is a beautiful and lush country with welcoming people and breathtaking landscaping!

Miriam put together the PERFECT itinerary and paired me with the greatest driver/guide Allan Tumukunde.

Allan was my companion for the exploration of western Uganda and his knowledge of culture, languages and the people was amazing...snag him for a memorable experience in Uganda.

My thanks to Allan, Miriam and Kagera Safaris for the best of vacations.

Miriam organized out trip perfect. Answered very quick and competent to all questions and did an amazing job. Traveling to Uganda or Rwanda I will always book with Kagera.
You won't find a better agency!
Miriam provided us with a solid jeep and a very cautious and smart driver guide, who did a great job, explained a lot and showed us this wonderful country at his best.
We choose mid class lodges and Miriam booked very good and nice lodges for us. My friends even thought that these were premium lodges. All were clean and comfortable, nice situated and served excellent food.
We choose a first day in Entebbe with a tour across a part of Lake Victoria to the swamps to watch birds and even saw 3 species of the rare shoebill stork.
Then we had a gorilla habitat trek in Kabale forest, which was amazing, a safari with game drive in Queen Elizabeth NP where we saw all of the big five except the rhino. But a lion in a tree and even a leopard walking round our jeep, which was absolutely stunning. The day was topped by a boat safari on Kazinga channel.
From there we went to Lake Bunyoni one of the most beautiful lakes in Africa. A canoe trip to some islands gave us deep insights in Ugandan life round the lake. Amazing was the little village round our lodge. We had luck to visit it at the market day.
From Bunyoni we headed to Bwindi for the gorillas, the absolute highlight of the tour.
The walk is not easy and can be quite long, but to get as close to the gentle giants is a lifetime experience.
Our last part of the tour took us to the golden monkeys in the Volcano NP at the border to Rwanda. We were very glad, that we booked all the 3 treks. Though the gorillas are definitely the highlight, you should not miss the chimps and the golden.
The trip ended in Kigali, Rwanda. Our favorite was definitely Uganda with its wonderful landscape, amazing animals and the fantastic nice, friendly and warm hearted people.
!!! Don't forget tipping in Uganda !!! Most people ignore it and thats a shame.
People earn very little and some working around tourism sometimes only get a job for a few days a year. We informed us before the trip and got as advice:
Driver Guide: 5$ per person per day, minimum 20$ a day
Ranger: 5$ per person per day
Tracker: 2,5-3$ ppd
Porters: please take a porter for the treks, this supports families living near the national parks a porter gets a minimum of 15$ a day, but helps a lot on the difficult walk through the rain forest over branches, rivers and slippery ground.
Lodges have tip boxes at the reception. You do not need to give separate tips. 2 to 3 $ ppc is ok in the tip box.

We had a wonderful 2-days trip to Akagera Nationalpark in Rwanda. Our guide Peter picked us up from our hotel in Kigali in a huge 4WD safari vehicle. He took us to the NP where we did a short game drive and a fantastic boat trip. On the second day Peter took us through the whole park. He is a very good driver and an expert on the wildlife in the park. After 7 hours of watching mammals we returned to Kigali. It was a wonderful trip with a fantastic guide at a very fair price.

We wanted to go spontaneously to Akagera National Park in Rwanda. With Kagera Safaris we were able to organize the trip very swiftly at a good price, and we're accompanied by our very competent and pleasant tour guide, Tito. It was a great experience! Kudos to the team!
