Four of us visited Castelli on our first night in Addis and were very glad we did. The restaurant is converted from a house so there are various rooms. Very Italian decor and a delicious antipasti tray at the door. I was eager to use some Italian and got to do that with what I assume was one of the owners and our delightful (and quite ancient) waiter. The food was quite good— weordered one of the steak dishes, the fresh perch and penne arrabiata which were all tasty. Would definitely recommend while in Addis.

I have been going to Castelli since I was a high school . The food and service is always very good. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoy Italian food

A lot have changed in Addis but some things are still the same. One of them is this old Italian restaurant whose owner sits up front to greet customers. The food is genuine Italian, probably more genuine than many that are in Italy :). It is a bit pricy if you are comparing it with other Ethiopian restaurants but if you are comparing it with its type of restaurants Internationally, it is fair. You will be tickled to know that they have a menu named after a customer who used to request one of theirs with additional seasoning. Upon trying the client's menu and liking it, they made it part of the official menu. My favorite is the lamb roast. Unless you are accustomed to parking in tight places, you are better off to take a cab to this location. If you are driving, take some changes for some self appointed attendees that will by your car :)

Must visit for anyone visiting Addis and for foodie excellent choice

This is my favorite restaurant in Addis. Make sure you book or come by later in the evening. No niceties but the food makes up for it.
