From the welcoming to checking out, this little gem exceeded our expectations. The staff (conceriage, housekeeping, poolside, bar, drivers...) anticipated our every need and were so helpful and accomodating. We stayed in Villa 1 which was beautifully decorated and had a fantastic view. The grounds are immaculate. I loved walking and taking pictures of the butterflies, birds, and flowers! Seaside massage was one of the best ever and definitely needed after an excursion to the Jaguar Preserve!

Chabil Mar is the perfect location from Placencia Village. We rode bikes into the village several times to explore, eat, shop... In the evenings we used the hotel's transportation or taxis. There are so many wonderful places to eat!

We highly recommend Chabil Mar and will definitely return. FYI returning customers are offered a discount!

Room tip: All villas are beautiful. We chose seaside which is higher priced.

Wow, what a wonderful surprise. The Internet doesn't do justice for this intimate and lovely little resort. Great location - walking distance to town, quiet area and nice beach. Beautiful, fully stocked rooms and very good food from the kitchen. The best part of Chabil Mar are the local folks who work there; for example, Darren, the quick witted bartender and assistant to kids with setting hooks for catching fish off the dock. Luis, who plays for the Belize national soccer team and is a heck of a young man. And Lacho for driving us in and out of town and to the airport always with a smile. I am unfortunately forgetting names of all the staff from the front desk to the gardeners to housekeeping to security who made staying at Chabil Mar a truly memorable experience.

The resort was gorgeous and the service excellent! Located right on the beach as we wanted. The room was like a little condo with everything you could possible need. The resort was conveniently close to Placencia Village and you could get there by bike or golf cart. Meals were served to you where ever you wanted around the resort! There are also several wonderful restaurants in Placencia Village (see other reviews). The only less than par thing was the couples massage, done by 2 girls from Italy,,,not experienced and definitely not worth the money...ride a bike to the village to the top spa on trip advisor! The other services were however wonderful~ We would stay here again especially with the little tidbits we learned from this year!

What makes this resort (which are privately owned condos) so unique is the fact that there is no central restaurant. You can basically order food or drinks when you want, where ever you want on the property. The staff here are very kind. The only draw back is that I found the drinks were rather expensive.
