We stayed at Miller’s Landing for 4 nights. After a grueling day of traveling from Portland, Oregon, we were greeted by Anne, her 2 friendly dogs, a cold beer and a delicious pizza. The beautiful grounds and the private appearing beach made us feel like we were on a deserted island. We woke up to the sounds many different species of birds and cooled off nightly in the pool before heading to the beach for happy hour beers. Anne arranged for a tour to Monkey River. The 45 minute boat ride weaving in and out of the open sea, mangroves and finally Monkey River was exciting. We saw many howler monkeys, crocodiles, birds, mantee’s and iguanas. The trip included a delicious lunch prepared by the sister-in-law of our guide. We spent our other days in the small town of Placencia listening to music and dining at one the many restaurants recommended by Anne. Anne was the perfect host with lot’s of interesting stories to tell.
If you are looking for a quiet, quaint, rustic experience at a property nestled in between the hustle and bustle of the growing area, this is your place.
