We came to this resort after a long day of Snorkeling at the reef. Boy this is such a relaxing place. Had great beer and food for lunch and it felt so heavenly. The staff were so friendly too. Next time i want to stay at this resort.

We sailed the Southern Belize Cayes and Hatchet Caye was one of our favorite anchorages. The resort welcomed us for drinks at their beautiful seaside bar and restaurant. We then had a nice swim in the freshwater pool and stayed for dinner! Every choice was fresh and scrumptious, from the chicken to the lobster! Good wifi reception too!

Just returned from a weekend at Hatchet Caye. Wow, wow, wow!!! A great welcome from Dasha the Manager and her staff, beautiful well appointed rooms, lovely landscaping, spectacular restaurant, a cool deck just for chilling, as well as great snorkelling all around the island if you want to do something other than relax in the hammock and drink margaritas all day! We kayaked, paddle boarded and went out on the Hobie Cat (all of which were included),and the rest of the time, we filled up on the lionfish tacos for lunch, had lobster, steak and fish for dinner, and had a great time. Only 12 rooms so the caye is perfect for relaxing. You can also rent the whole caye for your group. We are already planning our next trip! A perfect getaway!!

Naturally beautiful cay; rich underwater life; nicely landscaped. It is 7.1 acres, enough to feel big, but small enough to feel like your own cay. different parts of the island offer a variety - manicured lawn, hidden beach, great pier more than enough to choose from.

brilliant staff led by Lady Dasha - decidedly professional and helpful - amazing!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant - The Lionfish Grill is named after the divinely delicious lion fish - try the tacos - heavenly! the chef is 5-star.

accommodations comfortable and clean, nice size and comfortable porches.

great water sports. Wifi - moves on 'island speed'; but it works.

this is a must in Belize

Hatchet Caye is a great place to unwind, very laid back if that's what you want. There's plenty to keep you busy also, if that's what you want. We did the Turtle snorkeling trip and enjoyed the heck out of that, turtles, nurse sharks, and rays.
The snorkeling on the island is awesome, we snorkeled everyday and never got bored of it.
Kayaked around the island, fly fished on the island, caught bonefish.
The Lionfish Grill has a breakfast and lunch menu, and different dinner options every night. We had eight dinners and never had a repeat menu, the food was outstanding. They don't do short order cooking here, so enjoy yourself while waiting for your meal.
The island staff are there for you when you need them and leave you alone if that's what you want. Everyone is friendly and they all know your name by the second day you're there, even the grounds keepers.
The beach front bungalows are nice with your own outside deck. The deck is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee, while watching the Pelicans diving into the water for fish. We stayed in two different ones (our choice) and both had there pluses, we preferred #3 because of the beach and vegetation around it.
We will be going back to Hatchet Caye, even though I'm one that wants to try different places, it was that nice.
