Comfortable stay. Room on 7th floor was fine, spacious, if a little tired around the edges, especially considering the prevailing room rates.
The desk arrangement is bizarre, with no plug sockets available. I eventually worked out that there was a removable wooden panel under the desk which allows access to one other socket, in addition to the one powering the desk lamp. Sadly my adapter was too large to allow for the lamp and my laptop to be plugged in at once. But a solitary (hidden) plug in 2024 feels…. Dated?
There was a large conference going on during my stay, and one lift seemed to be out of service. These things happen, but it did make for some long waits to go up and down, and I could not find a staircase!
Other reviews mention the fire station one block down. I did hear fire trucks but to be honest, this seemed no worse than staying in any hotel downtown in a major city.
Food options in the vicinity are limited. If you don’t fancy the delights of Union Station, then the District Rico chicken place two blocks up is superb for take away or casual dine-in.
Staff were consistently friendly and helpful, they allowed me early check in and stored my bag on my final day. I continue my one-man crusade for kettles in international hotels in the US, but recognise this is perhaps a niche issue!
