Staff are friendly and location is excellent. Given the neighborhood is loaded with multi-million dollar homes, updates are needed in bathrooms at least and rooms overall. I've stayed her twice but am really disappointed there are no updates going on.
It was a pleasant day. The rooms were clean and quite spacious, everything worked, and everything was nicely in place. The staff was exceptional and the valet parking which I have had difficulties in other hotels was perfect, quick and courteous. This property is highly recommended.
Front desk staff is fantastic. The free breakfast is not the best quality. There is no fan in the bathroom. The best thing about this hotel is it's location -very close to the Capitol South Metro Station, walking distance to the Capitol and the National Mall. They cleaned the room the first day, skipped the second day and housekeeping was knocking on the door at 8A on checkout day.
It was our first time in DC and we had a great experience with the staff and the hotel. They were kind and very responsive.
I would not stay here again! The reasons for this are:
*slow, smelly elevators
*Non-working air conditioning in the room (the main floor has a window unit installed)
*tiny bathrooms
*bathroom sink is ridiculous! There is such a small separation between the sink bowl and the faucet that you can barely wash your hands. The faucet turn on/off is so close to the bowl that you knock into the bowl each time you turn it off.
*free breakfast is in a dingy, depressing location next door to main hotel building. The man who was working the breakfast was extremely rude. Someone poured a cup of coffee into the bowl of creamer/ice, and when I asked for fresh creamer containers, he grumbled at me.
*the building is old, dingy, and humid.
*the doors to the rooms are sticky and making a loud bang when closed. Impossible to sleep past 7 am when fellow guests are coming and going and making the BANG sounds repeatedly.
Get me out of this place! I will NEVER be back nor will I recommend to anyone.
