Great location. Excellent staff that goes above and beyond

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jan 2, 2025
The Phoenix Park is in a great location. Rooms are nice and having the Dubliner downstairs is a bonus.

We reserve a small block of rooms here for annual business meetings. This past December, one of my colleagues had a medical emergency and the staff was amazing. Janice Washington and her team reached out to see how he was doing, and stayed in contact with me to see if we needed anything and if they could accommodate with additional room nights, etc. They really went above and beyond in a caring way. We will definitely return and continue to stay at this property!

The location of the hotel is convenient as major attractions are within the walking distance. The rooms are fine, and has decent space to move around. Rooms don't come with tea/coffee maker amenities. One has to go to another level to fetch tea/coffee etc. We were good with this arrangement but what will put you off is the bad odor that has seeped into the corridors of the hotel. There is a Dublin bar in the ground floor of the hotel and the smell of food has been trapped in the vicinity of the hotel- carpets and elevators. This gets nauseous as the day progresses as the stench gets too bad especially from second floor onwards.

This is honestly our favorite hotel. It's a boutique property in the best sense. We have stayed in its larger rooms and smaller rooms and each has been wonderful in its own way. The beds are all wonderfully comfortable and the pillows divine. We are especially grateful for Front Desk Supervisor Brenda Ford, who always remembers us, and who goes over and above every time we are there to make sure each stay is memorable. This hotel just always feels like we've come home.

Now, on the practical side, you are literally a block away from Union Station, the Metro and Bus Services. You are within walking distance to the Capitol. Ride share service is always fast. And the Dubliner Restaurant (downstairs) serves a marvelous Irish-inspired breakfast.

We spent four nights on the eighth floor of the hotel with a nice view of the National Postal Museum and Union Station. The hotel was a short walk from the Union Station Metro stop and a short walk to the US Capitol. There is a lounge on the second floor with coffee and other hot beverages open 24/7. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, and they were happy to store our luggage before check-in time and after check-out time on our arrival and departure dates. The Dubliner Pub is adjacent to the hotel. It is a very popular place. There is also a restaurant/coffee shop called the Corner Bakery at the end of the block. We will definitely stay here the next time we visit DC.

I loved the Phoenix Park Hotel. It's a classy old hotel with a gracious staff. It's a convenient walk from Union Station and a stone's throw from the Capital and the National Mall. It houses the wonderful Dubliner Pub

Great staff, stunning hotel. Room was beautifully presented and exceptionally clean. We asked for extra towels and they arrived within minutes.
Check in was prompt and uncomplicated. Great location.
My family and I spent 9 days in the USA and this was the best hotel we stayed at. 100% recommend!!

Room tip: You'd be foolish to stay anywhere else. Great hotel on every level!
