My wife and I drove to DC mid July and we stayed the the Phoenix Park hotel for a few nights. Great place, great location and they were super helpful with anything from parking to location of things to bringing my wife a desk fan for sleeping etc. Highly recommend.

After staying at the Phoenix Park with my family last month, I honestly can't think of any reason why I would stay anywhere else in DC in the future.

It is super conveniently located diagonally across from Union Station, which made it an incredibly easy walk from our train.

The location also meant that it was eminently walkable to Chinatown, Capitol Hill, and the National Mall, plus both the Metro and the DC Circulator bus topped right across the street, giving us a ton of transportation options for any weather.

(We didn't take any cabs on this trip, but being right across from the train station would have made getting a cab super easy too).

The room itself was beautiful and comfortable (and a super good value for the price).

The hotel restaurant, the Dubliner, is great -- reasonably priced for DC, with very good food, good options for the kids, plenty of space, and even a great bar and live music almost every night (which we didn't get to enjoy as much as we wanted, traveling with young kids, but look forward to enjoying on a return trip).

Felt like a boutique hotel experience at a chain hotel price.

Additionally: We had originally booked this vacation for April and had to postpone with less than 36 hours notice due to a sudden death on the family. The staff (especially Robin, with whom I had several phone calls) were super accommodating, kind, and helpful and really helped make a difficult time for my family just a little bit easier.

Once we actually arrived, they again went above and beyond, helping to facilitate a room swap for our second night to better accommodate the sleep needs of our 2 year old who is going through a fussy phase.

Honestly, we got the kind of 5-star treatment that I would have expected to pay twice as much for in a city as expensive as DC.

We will be back for sure.

Room tip: Perfect for travelers arriving in DC by train. DC Circulator bus National Mall loop stops every 10 minutes right across the street

We spent six nights here in July and enjoyed our stay. The beds were very comfortable. We selected a smaller room, but it was a perfectly reasonable size for two people. Conveniently close to Union Station. Many restaurants within walking distance. Housekeeping serviced the room daily (not the case in all hotels since the pandemic). Staff were very pleasant. We enjoyed a good meal at the Dubliner. Espresso martini was delicious.

Negatives: the bathroom counter was very small and could accommodate only a few items. It made getting ready in the morning a challenge. This was a minor inconvenience. More seriously, the inadequate window shades did not keep out the street light. Consequently the room is not dark. It is possibly the least dark hotel room I have stayed in. The shades need to be replaced with blackout shades or blackout curtains should be added. We were tired enough at night that we slept fine, but if you need the room dark, this hotel is not for you.

We would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for your visit and sharing your comments. We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit and found our staff so welcoming. I am sorry our window design was not to your liking - our windows are equipped with both blackout and light filtering shades. We design them to work for most of our traveler needs - but realize they may not satisfy all guests. We thank you for your business.

A wonderful hotel in great location for seeing the city. The room was spacious and very clean. Had a great nights sleep aided by the Guinness at the Irish pub on the ground level. Staff were especially friendly and will be staying again in the future.

This was our second time staying at this historic hotel. From the doorman, to front desk personnel, we were in excellent hands. Knowledgeable, efficient staff. Rooms clean and comfortable. Coffee and tea available all day.
Great location, close to the metro, our travel vehicle of choice. Ubered if needed to the sites.
Added bonus was the Dubliner bar and restaurant on site! Great fun for all ☘️

The staff and accommodations were wonderful. The overnight rooms are updated and comfortable. We had a series of business meetings take place over two days and the food and service was great. I would recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.
