Good value, and what was to be expected

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Oct 8, 2024via mobile
Location is pretty good the suite rooms are a good space. The breakfast area gets crazy in the morning. That was my only issue staying here. Staff and grounds good. There is a burger place right around the corner. It is a little dated. Carpet in my room had lots imperfections.
Date of stay: August 2024
Room Tip: Burger place around the corner is good. Happy hour around the corner is very convenient. .

Great location, very close to metro station. Nice to have a kitchenette available. Clean and spacious room, although sofa bed was not very comfortable to sleep in. The breakfast was very good. Great place for kids, although some parents let their kids run pell-mell up and down the halls at 11 pm at night. just 1 block from the museum of the Bible and 3 blocks from the Smithsonian Air and Space museum. Safeway is a 4 block walk away and McDonald's is 2 blocks away.

This was a really nice hotel. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The pool was pretty nice. It was heated but not super warm. The shower needed some work. The water pressure was low. The breakfast was amazing. There was different choices of meat each day. In The coffee they even had cold coffee. The hotel was also close to everything that we wanted to do.

The hotel is in walking distance to the wharf where there is entertainment and a a plethora of restaurants. The hotel staff extremely helpful and very friendly. The one bedroom suite was spacious and the bed was beyond comfortable. The reason for the four stars was the ice maker only worked when plugged in and maintenance had to come and unplugged the machine in order for us to not hear the ice machine all night, not a big deal just a minor inconvenience. There was hair left from the previous guest in the shower and hair is my gag reflex. Other than that things were great, the breakfast menu switched daily which was a pleasant surprise. Will definitely be back.

Our 5 day stay at Residence Inn Washington DC National Mall was a superb experience. The room was spacious, clean, good amenities, everything worked well. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. The breakfast-included service with a variety of freshly prepared coffee, eggs, waffles etc allowed my family to get on the go quickly and satisfied to start each day!

When we return to DC this hotel will be our choice because it's location is ideal and the rooms are comfortable.

Surely one staff member that we will never forget is Charles ( at the concierge desk). He was so very helpful at all times, he has all the contacts and orientations one needs. His friendly and respectful personality stands out. We could tell that he does his work with passion. Charles is an asset to the Residence Inn on E Street SW!

We stayed here for a three-day weekend to attend a local graduation, and it was a huge mistake. We were given the handicap room, even though no one in our party needs assistance. It’s obvious they gave us what was leftover. The bathroom situation was completely unacceptable. The sink is in the bedroom so that you keep awake anyone who might be sleeping on a different schedule than you. Because the shower is a handicap shower, the whole shower/toilet room got soaked. We asked for more pillows and towels (to accommodate the wet floor from the shower), and we got a really bad attitude and ended up in a negotiation over how many pillows were acceptable! But the worst part was how dark and dirty our room was. Barely any lighting. I had to use my flashlight app to see what was in my suitcase. Technically, we were on the second floor, but we were really in what felt like a basement apartment looking up with almost no natural light and looking out at a transformer. It was so dark and dingy. The mattress on the pullout bed is incredibly thin. We finally asked to be moved out of the room and were told no, they were at full capacity. So, we suffered through, but yuck. I’ve had bad hotel experiences, but this takes the cake. Will never stay here again.
