I've struggled for years to find a go-to hotel for when I'm traveling on business, and I finally found it with the Riggs. The location is perfect for my needs. The rooms are trendy but comfortable, amenities top notch and they have room service with great food. You also can't beat the bar and restaurant downstairs. My only quibble with it is that the design includes pedestal sinks in the bathroom, so there isn't enough counterspace for toiletries and makeup. But that won't stop me from staying at the Riggs again and again.

We received a wonderfully warm welcome, the concierge was delighted to share a little of the history of the hotel. The rooms are beautifully appointed, comfortable bed and good shower. 4* for the room only because there was no desk which made working a little tricky. The restaurant and bar are lovely; really nice atmostphere particularly in the downstairs bar.

I see many 5 start reviews here on TA for this girl, unfortunately many have just 1 contribution

On going renovations renovations made our check in a distraction. Nevertheless, check in was friendly. I didn't like being asked for my phone number when they already have my email address.

Staff were friendly and professional. Beautiful decor throughout. Room had the amenities we needed. Bathroom was small. No bottled water. Really?! Cheap toilet paper.

Restaurant downstairs was too busy for us to bother grabbing a drink before dinner.

Interesting historical tidbit, this property was previously a lodging where John Wilkes Booth stayed prior to shooting president Lincoln.

I picked The Riggs Hotel because of great reviews, a great location and it looked fantastic in all the photos. And who doesn’t like the idea of staying in a building that once was a bank?

Of course, you never know until you check in…

It turns out the hotel lived up to every wonderful thing that reviews and magazines awarded it. The restaurant is beautiful, the rooms are unique and lovely, the bar—in the one time vault—is great. The staff is friendly and accommodating beyond expectations.

We will definitely stay there again the next time we visit Washington DC.
