Owner description: The Capitol is among the most architecturally impressive and symbolically important buildings in the world. The Senate and the House of Representatives have met here for more than two centuries. Begun in 1793, the Capitol has been built, burnt, rebuilt, extended, and restored; today, it stands as a monument not only to its builders but also to the American people and their government.

It’s nice to see where rules are made. The structures and displays are very impressive. When you write to your representative, they’ll have their interns give you a guided tour around. Magnificent place, paintings, everywhere. Clean restrooms.

An advance registration is required, but we had not problem obtaining one the day before. Outstanding tour guide, who was highly knowledgeable and articulate. Magnificent artwork in the Capitol dome. Free audio tour. Additional outstanding artwork in other rooms. A great part of our visit to Washington DC.

We walked around the Capital for a couple of hours and were in awe. Though nothing gets done there (sorry about the editorial) it’s still very impressive. Be ready for protesters from every angle. Still must see!

We contacted Congressman Tom Reed’s office and his staff assistant, Tom, arranged a tour of the Capitol Buidling. Micheal, an intern, conducted the tour. He was very knowledgeable and did a fabulous job. Both of these men treated us graciously and were very helpful.

The building itself was impressive and well worth visiting. Awesome place!
