Great Location

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Oct 8, 2024
This is a great location on the Wharf. The rooms are nice with a small couch, microwave, refrigerator, TV, and other amenities. They also have free breakfast. There are plenty on eateries in walking distance including a bar at the hotel. There are also plenty of great views and places to sit.

Couldn't sleep as the noise from the bars below kept me and two other rooms of family up at night. If you stay there, bring earplugs, as they had run out when I was there.
My room and another room in my group smelled of mold/mildew, and the staff seemed aware of that.
No bathroom products in the room, like q-tips or extra soap. Also, no water in room, even for World of Hyatt members.
Alarm clock was broken in a couple of rooms and the TV guide feature really didn't work properly. Also, no plugs by the bed. Had to charge phones across the room.

Love this place!!! The location is great!! So many restaurants to choose from and easy access to shuttles and Ubers. We spent a lot of time just walking around the Wharf! And of course the Hyatt is always friendly and welcoming! Our room was a little small but we were very comfy. We loved the outdoor patios!! The breakfast was great as usual which was and always is a great way to start your day!! I would definitely stay here again!!!

I stayed one night for a business trip. The hotel was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was very close to my business meeting. They offered breakfast, which included a wide selection of hot items (eggs, sausage, waffles, oatmeal), toast, pastries, cereal, yogurt, etc.
The staff were friendly, and I was lucky to be able to check in early in the day after arriving on an early flight.
The neighbourhood is lovely - so many nice restaurants for dinner close by, and a great spot for a long walk along the water.

First time stay at The Wharf. It’s a very busy popular spot along the river and well provided for restaurants and walkways. As other evokes will attest its a rather unusual entrance to the hotel via a car park lobby but upstairs the reception area is nice and good areas for sitting out with views of the river and plane landing in the distance at RR Airport. The room I had was spacious and things worked in it. I had one item go missing (reported to the hotel) that remains a mystery. Breakfast was available in mass quantities - don’t expect refinement, do expect bad scrambled eggs and plastic everything. For me the location did not match my style due to its busyness and the constant smell of drugs on the street walkways.

We were in DC for several days to celebrate our anniversary. We had a river view king room. It was small but adequate for 2 people. We had a sewage smell in our room when you walked through the door. There was a vent above the door, so it could have been the source. I called about it once but it took hours to get someone up and they applied some type of fragrance which masked the smell that night. So, we didn’t have time to complete the complaint. We just dealt with it since the smell seemed to not travel to the bed.

Two hotel complaints- silverware at the buffet was frequently dirty (sticky). Our first morning they ran out of silverware.
The gym had no cleaning supplies and one mat. You couldn’t wipe down equipment so it’s a bacteria factory. The treadmills are in need of maintenance as they were very loud with a knocking noise. We made it work, but it wasn’t pleasant.
One lady in the breakfast area (wore a head wrap everyday) was friendly every day. She was a breath of fresh air. Just delightfully greetings each morning.
