Visited twice, once for lunch and the second time for breakfast. Mussels for lunch were super.

Also had breakfast here a couple of days later. Almost perfect except the poached eggs yolks went too firm as the waitress forgot to bring cutlery with the plates - so nearly five stars perfect! Still enjoyed everything.

the service and food at this place is shocking. Ordered simple bacon and 2 poached eggs. 30 minutes later served cold food and very over cooked eggs. Toast with no butter.
We left, was reasonably busy but the 2 staff that dealt with us had no idea, really really bad, we walked along and had the most wonderful food at a place not too far from this.

Love to go here. Fab views from their seating area . They’ve a quirky old fridge full of interesting reading material. Like a coffee there or a beer. Wild bucks only $5 a large handle. Why go anywhere else?

Had not been to this local cafe foe some years due to bad dining experience + ott costs. Tried again with 2 friends and was once again very disappointed..The prices are high and the food does not warrant the costs. We had bread with olive oil to nibble before main courses........12.50 for 6 tiny pieces of bread and a tablespoon of olive oil + 3 black olives. All pleasant but the price is excessive for a cafe. Mains come with potato only............salad or vegetables are extra.I asked for my steak to be cooked "blue", the waitress had no idea what that meant? When the steak arrived it was obvious that a slice of schnitzel cannot be cooked anything other than medium to well done! My dog enjoyed most of it when I got home! At $31.50 I expect something better, in fact for $14 a local pub provides a much better deal.Foolishly we ordered desserts.Once again the waitress had no idea what the "plum tart with elderberry peach" consisted of .When it arrived neither did I! A tiny "pastry?" case filled with whipped cream and 3 slices of peach??????????No plums in sight? The pastry was so tough it was inedible.
It is sad that this well known cafe has become so pretentious. There is a lot of hospitality experience involved in Le Cafe but it seems to be over taken by greed for profit.Teaching new staff each season is difficult and dull, perhaps it is time for new management?
The menu seems to have varied very little since the opening almost 18 years ago......the prices are excessive...........and the food is not good.
