Such an unexpected pleasure! We were fascinated by the beautiful sculptures and lush gardens to complement them. Josie Martin is an extraordinary artist! Clearly the top attraction in the beautiful town of Akaroa.
Amazing place; well worth visiting! So much to see; beautiful spot and walkable from Akaroa town. Stunning house and gardens, along with lots of mosaic sculptures.
The whole experience was just overwhelming and outstanding. The mosiacs were so beautifully made and the grounds were so stunning. We spent nearly 3hrs there. Would highly recommend even if you dont have an interest in art.
Josie has created the most magical space. So talented in creating this beautiful creative fun space. An inspiring place to go to get the creative juices flowing. My sisters and I had fun and really appreciated all the time and effort put into creating this extraordinary place. I will be back again with the rest of my family!
Amazing place. The work to do all the figures etc is mind blowing. The grand historic looking house looks interesting but you can't go inside which was a big disappointment as the websites gave the inpression it was part of the experience. Especially as it is called The Giants House. Maybe a change of name to reflect the sculptures would be more appropriate.
Cafe food and coffee is expensive. $10 for a large coffee.???
Probably a $25 adult entry would be more in keeping with the house off limits.
