This well positioned boutique hotel in Fremantle certainly punches above its weight.
Everything about the hotel from the rooms /breakfast/information has a nice personal touch - which starts on arrival with Marco & staff. A good deal with the small brewery next door is a great add on. Make a booking if parking is required whilst in Freo. All in all - The Hougie is 5 stars!!

Our trio of intrepid friends and lovers was lucky enough to nab a studio room at Nuhaus as part of celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday weekend- and can I say that the room exceeded our expectations greatly!
I have previously stayed at Hougoumont and found the smaller double rooms over the road to be lovely and modern whilst accepting the minimal footprint room sizes of the hotel itself right in Freo central.
But the studio was a game changer- I wish we didn’t sleep in so late that we couldn’t take advantage of the coffee pod machine and rejuvenating brekkie (which I have eagerly consumed on my previous stay at Hougoumont ).
We travelled up from the south west and found check in to be a breeze after hours, with the delightful lady from Katanning checking me in and advising me on all the facilities.
The accommodation and common areas of the hotel smacks of class and chic inner city living.
Even upon our slightly late departure the front desk staff and maintenance man were so accommodating offering to help us with bags and offering fruit, water and lollies- which I only didn’t take as we were in recovery mode from our evening celebrations.
I would recommend anyone travelling to Freo for a stay to try and get into one of the studios, or if you are solo or budget savvy one of the Hougoumont rooms- from the personalised welcome message written on the bathroom mirror to the comfy and quiet modern rooms this is a little sanctuary away from the bustling Fremantle main drag- and the perfect place to connect with your significant other/s between dinner dates and pub crawling.
Bravo Hougoumont - we will be sailing with you again- hopefully for a couple of nights next time.

We had an excellent four nights at this hotel, and it was a very happy surprise on our arrival, to be upgraded to a state room! The staff were super friendly, and the yellow lollipops were a lovely touch! 🤩. Breakfast was simple but high quality, and the free cheese and wine we enjoyed in the bar next door, was very much appreciated at the end of a busy tourist day! The Hougoumont is an excellent choice for anyone staying in the Fremantle area; thanks again for a great stay!

I always stay at this hotel in Fremantle, although the rooms are small they have everything I need. The hotel is perfectly positioned as it is close to restaurants and coffee shops. The staff are always friendly and are a pleasure. When in Fremantle this is the hotel for me.
