This would have to be one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. Superb service and breakfast and wine and cheese each day a welcome addition. Rooms were lovely and such a great location next to Main Street. Marco and his staff are excellent at service and would stay here again and recommend to all my friends and family

We 'happened apon' this hotel in an internet search. It promised to be a little different, and was. Great staff. Some fascinating stories about the Hougoumont ship and the convicts that sailed in her. We stayed in New Haus, an extremely comfortable room, excellent firmish bed, superb large shower and good seating. We could have done with a bit more light for reading. However, the location, breakfast, the adjacent bar (Calamity's Rod with excellent ɓeer from the micro brewery) and the nearby restaurant (The Oranges with good spicy food and vg wines) mean you can have a whole experience with the group - you need to get out of the room and enjoy things, in wider Freo too! The experience here was a highlight of this visit to WA.

We stayed here for a Friday and Saturday night in September.
Pros:
* Hotel was centrally located
* Breakfast was simple but fine - muesli and toast
* the free glass of wine and cheese plate was a nice touch
* front desk service was good
* we used the free bike hire - bikes pretty crappy but okay for a local ride
Cons:
* room was very small, like European small, and there was nowhere to unpack
* our room was not made up in spite of us hanging the sign on the door and being out from 9am to 2.30. When we raised it at front desk, they said room service had finished already. We were able to get clean towels at least
Would I stay again? Probably not, mainly due to the size of the room.

The size of our rooms is very well explained and advertised anywhere on the web.
I do not think you have contacted our Fantastic Staff, they could have offered you an alternative option, if available.
The next time please ask your agent to book you in one of our Staterooms, 32 sqm will satisfy your space requirements.
A holding deposit may be required upon check-in.
I will investigate the matter of servicing the room, which is highly unusual for us.

We stayed the night before our cruise was about to depart, the location was good, close to shops and restaurants, sightseeing within walking distance. The breakfast setting was cozy as the weather was cold. We found the staff, professional, charming and I can only give them eleven out of ten. Our cruise was delayed due to the weather, frustrating but again staff came to our rescue and told us we could stay until the cruise was ready to board. What can I say, the day got better and we met some lovely people from Perth, we were chatting and having coffee and we met this couple many times on the ship. Sorry it has taken me so long to write a review. My lovely wife would not hestitate to book again. Eleanor & Michael Cryer
