Arrived with young family later than expected. Did not allow us in, stranded outside on first night of holiday in rough area. After trying for 2 hours, had to go back to airport and sleep there. When contacted hotel next day, they lied about not receiving phone calls, said they would email, then didn’t. They then gave me a fake email. Phoned 6 more times, told manager would call back, which they did not. They have taken our money and ruined a family holiday that we have worked hard for for years. The hotel is also known under 2 names, so don’t get duped… also known as The Beaconsfield.
I stayed for 4 nights, the room was clean and tidy with comfortable bed. Separate toilet and shower for men and women. Shared kitchenette was clean and very handy to use. tried their food which was delicious. Everyday food specials with good dollar value. The staff was very helpful as they let me put my luggage at hotel after i had checked out - safe and secure. Bus stop very closeby and walking distance to centre of Fremantle.
My stay at the Wray Hotel was amazing. Comfortable rooms, the building is heritage site so you would obviously expect a vintage style. The room was clean, comfortable bed and clean crisp pillows. My son and I went down to have their food, the food is great. They provide free parking onsite which was a plus point. The staff was very helpful and accommodating as I needed to check-in late and the manager made the entire process easy and smooth. Highly recommended and would definitely return.
Accommodation at the hotel is an afterthought. Had to check in at the Sports Bar when the staff eventually decided to stop serving to give us a key.
Our bedroom door was damaged apparently from being kicked in the week prior. Room had holes in the wall, dirty cushions found in the drawer, cigarette hole in pillow cases and over frozen freezer in fridge.
Shared bathroom facilities dirty including men’s pants left on the floor, fire exits blocked with bags of dirty bedding.
No aircon - ceiling fan circulating hot air (41degs day). I believe the facilities at a YHA would have been better.
On a brighter note walkable to town - 1.3km to cafe strip and were grateful our car wasn’t damaged in the patrons car park.
