Fantastic science museum with loads of hands on exhibits. A great escape from the heat of the sun in the summer. My 11 year old boy was fascinated and as we arrived early and were the only ones in there and Catrina acted as our guide. Catrina spoke perfect English and even did a few hands on experiments for us in the laboratory which was fantastic. Lots of educational hands-on challenges for the children and adults to do. A little hidden gem in Tavira and well worth a visit.

Voted by my two grandchildren (girls 10 and 7) 'one of the best things of our holiday' - and over the years these two have been almost everywhere in the Tavira area!
The staff were superb (with faultless English) - the various demonstrations were both fun and topically educational.
Excellent value too - a family ticket for just 7 euros.
Not the easiest place to find (ask for the 'Carmo' Convent - it's next door) but plenty of parking and only a short walk from Tavira centre.

Very good science center. It is a bit small but the staff make up for it with the personal experience. Joao was great and informative, our three year old had a blast.

Visited the science museum on a Saturday afternoon (December) without any expectations. Definitely the most enjoyable museum trip we’ve had with our children - €7 for a family ticket. The three individuals working at the museum were so welcoming,
interesting and entertaining - for us and the kids. Particularly Joao tailored the personal tour he gave us to their ages (4&2) and our 4 year old left wanted to be a biologist! Small museum but a brilliant experience.

We visited here this morning with our 4 year old, after seeing the centre in Faro yesterday. Both centres are lovely, but today Teresa, one of the staff members went above and beyond in entertaining our little boy. Doing experiments with him for well over an hour, he absolutely loved it. As well as having to try and explain things to him in English she was also very conscious of his level of understanding, probably being younger than the average visitor. She was absolutely brilliant and I couldn't recommend the centre highly enough. An outstanding highlight of our trip to Portugal so far! A resounding 5 stars

We went here to try something different with the boys (4 & 2 years old) on what was a very hot day. The eldest was captivated from the moment we went in until the moment we left. He wanted to do everything. The youngest was also interested but didn't really follow everything that was going on. The whole thing took about 2 hours. Most of the information is in Portuguese, but they gave us a booklet in English to explain what needed to be done. The best bit for the boys was when Vanessa, a very friendly and enthusiastic staff member, allowed the boys to help her make a volcano! The boys had an absolute ball! I would highly recommend this if you have young children that like to interact with exhibits rather than be told "don't touch that". It is only a pity that it is not a little bit bigger with a few more things to do.
